1973 Porsche 911T Targa CIS, 1-owner, fully restored California Car, See Pics.

This 1973 Porsche 911T Targa CIS has been a one-owner car in Palm Springs. CA. where it has spent nearly all of it's life.   The car was stored in a dry Southern California garage since it was new.   We purchased the car from the 1st. owner in September of 2012.   The car is completely accident and rust free. not a single spot of rust needed to be repaired.   All of the body panels are original. We have photos of the car as it was found in the garage. showing the original silver paint.   We also took photos of the car during the restoration to show the absolutely rust and accident free body.

The car comes with a genuine Porsche Certificate Of Authenticity. confirming the original engine and transmission. colors. etc.   This car has many desirable S model options. such as the steel front bumper with the integrated spoiler. S model deco trim. front and rear anti-sway bars. 15x6 S wheels with the 185/70-SR15 tires.   The only deviation from the COA is the interior material. it was vinyl. now it is leather & wool.

The car has undergone a complete rotisserie restoration.   The car was completely disassembled. cleaned and repainted using the correct Glasurit Silver paint. as per original paint code.   The car was painted throughout. ie. Outside and underneath. as well as in the trunk.   The paint job is outstanding. the car is very straight.   The car had the original paint when we purchased it.  

All of the hardware on the car has been cadmium plated as per original. The black suspension parts have been painted and powder coated as suitable. The brake system is brand new. the master cylinder is new. the hoses are new. the calipers have been plated & rebuilt. The pedal assembly has been rebuilt & detailed completely. The gear shifter assembly has been detailed & rebuilt completely. all new bushings. shift coupling. shift boot. shift knob. The shift lever was powder coated. The heater lever and the idle adjuster have new knobs. the system has been fully rebuilt.

All of the wear components of the suspension have been replaced. new ball joints. new shock mounts. new shock absorbers (original type & make). new tie rods. new wheel bearings & seals. rear axles were rebuilt with new joints & boots. The gas tank was cleaned & recoated.   The instruments have been completely rebuilt and calibrated by North Hollywood Speedometer. fully rebuilt. The dash has all new trim. knobs. radio. glove compartment. model designation emblem. The steering wheel has been re-wrapped with leather. hand stitched. The steering column was serviced & new turn & wiper indicator logos were installed. The switches were serviced. The correct date matching S type 15” x 6” wheels have been show restored by Weidman's Wheels. all 5 of them. The tires are all new. Wredestein 185/70SR15. All of the trunk emission hoses are brand new. The windshield washer system has a new pump. tank. hoses. nozzles. check valves. etc. The emission system is complete & functional. with all new correct cloth braided hoses & clamps.   All of the defroster & heater hoses are new & correct. all cables & linkages have been adjusted & calibrated. The gas tank hoses. clamps. rubber neck. rubber flap. gas cap etc are all new. The antenna and left exterior mirror are new & correct Porsche items. The exterior aluminum S trim has been fully restored & new rubber inserts have been installed. The door handles have been fully restored & rechromed. All locks on the car have been serviced & work on the same key. The door stops are new. All door glass runners and weatherstrip is new.   The window regulators were serviced. New window crank handles. Exterior chrome has been redone. New vent window weatherstrip. New windshield glass. windshield weatherstrip & aluminum trim. New rear window weatherstrip and clips. New Porsche emblems throughout the car.   The interior includes the new items. among others – new leather door panels. new original & genuine Porsche door pockets (all 4 pieces). new door pocket hardware. new leather door top panels. leather dash pad – upper & lower. all aluminum trim has been restored as well.

The seats have been fully restored. including new padding. painted seat bottoms. German Porsche leather upholstery with German houndstooth inserts.    The seat tracks have been powdercoated & zinc plated as per original. The seat hinges were completely taken apart. wrinkle finish powdercoated as per original. fully restored.

The glove compartment box is new. as is the 911T logo on the box door.   The sunvisors are brand new. original Porsche parts.   All of the interior trim has been finished in the correct German Porsche leather.   The radio was restored and calibrated. the dash speaker is the correct new Porsche speaker.   The antenna is the correct Hirschman black antenna. new.

The engine has been completely rebuilt by the service manager of an Authorized Porsche dealer. with over 30 years of Porsche engine rebuilding. The engine has all new bearings. new timing components. new cylinders. the cams have been reground to new specs. the engine cases have the case savers installed. the cylinder studs are new. the cylinder heads have been rebuilt completely. The injectors are all new.   The engine is assembled with all new & correct German hardware. all zinc plated parts have been replated. all black metal trim has been powdercoated. The engine cover has been repainted with high gloss paint.

The original CIS only heat exchangers were media blasted and painted with high heat paint.   The muffler is brand new.  The fuel distributor and the warm up regulator were rebuilt by CIS Flowtec.

The transmission was rebuilt. it has all 5 new synchronizer rings. bearings as needed and all new seals.  

The clutch is brand new. as is the flywheel and starter ring gear.   The alternator and starter were rebuilt.   The entire wiring harness was cleaned and serviced as needed. there are no crimp connectors anywhere. the wire harness was completely unmolested and original.

The targa top was completely taken apart. every single part was repaired and restored. The hinge pins are new. all small clips were replaced. the frame was repainted. all small trim pieces were recovered. new padding was installed.   The targa top looks brand new. in every respect.

The trunk has been fully restored as well.   All hardware was plated as original. all new hoses were installed. including the emissions hoses.   The washer tank and pump. hoses. check valves and nozzles are all new. The batteries are the correct new Porsche OEM items. The battery brackets etc are all new.  

All of the aluminum trim has been polished or replaced. The chrome is all new.   We have a lot more detail pictures of the undercarriage etc if you would like to see them.  

The car comes with the original owner's manual (like new) as well as a fully restored original tool set - jack and the tools in the original tool bag.  

The list of new items on this car is far longer than what is practical to list here.   The buyer of the car will receive all original receipts for all of the parts used in the restoration. The restoration cost of the car was over $ 90. 00.
