1930 MODEL A DELUXE ROASTER, Rumble seat, older restoration, dual side mounts

Sale price: $16,000.00 make an offer

Seller's notes: "Mechanically solid daily driver 1930 Model A Deluxe Roadster. This car, likely the product of a partial 80's restoration, was pulled out of a barn, made drivable, and driven for the past 10+ or - years while I worked on other vehicles. I added a Leakless water pump, quartz headlights, turn signals, a high output alternator, electronic ignition, re-bushed front end, adjusted the brakes, replaced four driving tires, and in general put it into solid driving condition. The top and interior are usable, but should be replaced in a future restoration.. The car is a perfect choice for a complete restoration or could be used “as is” for a daily driver. The body is in easy restorable condition with minor fender cracks and scratches. The car is being sold “as is where is” with shipping arrangements left up to the buyer ( I will help coordinate where possible). More info/photos available on request. The car will not be released for shipment nor will the title be provided until payment has cleared."

The following came to mind when answering a question of a bidder. I am entering this into the description before the car hits the reserve and want to be sure everyone has had a chance to read it before further bidding. The car is a solid. daily driver but not a pristine show car.  It could be made pristine. but I wanted it to drive. not to haul.  For years it was our ice cream car. but my daughter and her friends are in college now and no longer race to the rumble seat for a trip to the ice cream store. For this reason the car is being put up for auction.

I have done no body work to this car other than cleaning. I am not aware of any "patch panels" in it. but I can't say whether any are in this car or not. The body is as it was found in the barn 10-12 years ago. There is one crack on the curve of the driver's side fender that extends upwards an inch and one half (a relatively simple fix) possibly caused by eighty plus years of vibration. I am not certain as to it's origin but have seen similar cracks on Model T's and other A's. I didn't see or feel any on the passenger side. but it was dark when I checked. Some small holes (the size of a quarter or smaller) are in the panel behind the seat. These do not appear from the outside and I did not think of them when first writing the description. I also did not mention that in a home coming parade a few years back some students sat on the top of the rumble seat to be higher up to wave. I didn't realize until later that they pushed the trunk deck lid into the body causing a scratch about a foot long by about a half an inch. I don't think of this much as it doesn't stand out when the rumble seat is open (which it usually is). The pictures I posted of the car were taken last October just before I put it into winter storage. The car is in the same condition it was at that time and will be taken out of storage next week when the temperature is forecast to reach near 60 degrees. The car is available for viewing in Davenport by a buyer or agent. I also did not mention that I had the starter rebuilt last fall. If I were to keep this car. my plan was to make a baffle for the radiator. The Leakless water pump moves more water than the original. and the configuration of the car allows the water pump to throw water at the filler cap and motor meter; the water will sometimes be thrown out around the cap. especially if too much water is in the radiator. Replacement radiators sold in the seventies (when I think this car was restored) did not have baffles. The Leakless people suggest filing notches into the impeller blades. but I didn't want to do this.
