CLASSIC PORSCHE 911SC IN GUARDS RED

OPPORTUNITY TO ACQUIRE THIS EXCELLENT EXAMPLE OF A CLASSIC 911 WHICH HAS BEEN IN MY OWNERSHIP SINCE 1977.   IT HAS ONLY 2 FORMER KEEPERS AND HAS BEEN A REALIBLE SUPERCAR FOR THE ENTIRE DURATION OF MY OWNERSHIP.

Finished in classic Guards Red with turbo style ‘tea tray' spoiler and black leather electric sports seats with red piping. Fuch Alloys with Bridgestone tyres.

Car History:

Originally sold by Roger Clark Cars in Narborough. Lancashire with two previous owners prior to my purchase of the car from Rivervale Porsche in Brighton in November 1997.

All hand books including service book in their original folder supplied along with a large file of service history invoices.

There is 19 stamps in the book plus invoices from West Sussex Specialist Cars and Auto Farm who fitted the light weight bumpers in 2001.   The car has now covered 122870 miles and is only used during the summer months. being garaged all winter.

Modifications undertaken include:

·      Hydraulic chain tensioners fitted by RUF in 1998

·      SSI sports exhaust fitted in 2000

·      Light weight AutoFarm bumpers from and rear fitted in 2001

I will be as critical as I can about the condition.

·      Considering its now 31 years of age it is in very good condition!

·      The body work is excellent condition. with excellent  shut lines. There is a very small blister below the offside headlight (approx. 3 mm diameter) and some minor repairs undertaken around the engine cover lid release.   The paintwork is in superb with some slight wear to the black finish on the rear spoiler and Fuch wheels where I have polished it too much.

·   IIn general the paintwork is lovely making a stunning looking car in the classic Guard Red finish.   There are a few small blemishes. particularly on the bottom of the front spoiler but nothing that detracts from the overall excellent condition.

·      The engine is in excellent condition having been regularly serviced with Mobile 1 used for at least the last 10 years. Excellent oil pressure. nbsp;no burning of oil but like all 911 units there is the odd spot of oil on the garage floor.

·      The gearbox is good but like all Porsches fitted with the 915 gearbox. quick changes are a bit like pudding stirring.    There is a slight bearing noise from the gearbox at low revs.

·      The heat exchangers are stainless as is the sports SSI exhaust.   This provides a significant modification and simplicity to the exhaust system and provides a superb engine note. particularly when the revs get up above 4000

·      All the suspension is excellent' with no issues. /span>

·      The brakes are in good condition with braided hoses fitted front and rear.

·      The Fuch Alloys are in good condition but the black centers are a little worn due to over polishing. The Bridgestone tyres are in good condition.  

·      The ‘turbo' seats are firm and extremely supportive. there are a couple of small marks in the leather.   The leather over the dashboard is slightly frayed behind the streaming wheel and a little warped due to the sun. but nothing major.  The fixings for the drivers side door pocked is poor with the pocked coming slightly loose on occasions.

·      The car is fitted with Toad “Thatcham” approved security system which disables the fuel pump.    At the time of writing all electrical systems are working.  

Overall Conclusion:

The sum of all the above points make the car a true classic super car. it is still in my mind one of the very few classics that really still genuinely excite and is capable in the 21st century traffic conditions.   It currently has an MOT until May this year but I will re MOT the car prior to being collected.
