1976 Porsche 911 S Coupe 2-Door 2.7L almost complete project for sale
Current customer rating: (191 votes ) based onThings I've done:Removed the interior completely;. and replaced with brand new carpet Put in a brand new headliner Brand new driver and passenger front seat upholstery Fixed and painted the dash to match original specs. Brand new windshield and new rubber
Exterior New updated H4 headlamps New Porsche decals
Painted the car. here in also lies the problem. the job that was done was not done a 100%. to say the least. nbsp; and was not a satisfactory job. In the pictures you can see the issues. very fixable. nbsp; but for me time and money are not on my side right now (wife. kids. house. dogs…. )
The body is straight and has been updated with wider metal flares in the rear.
Other things about the car Electric windows. mirrors and radio antenna.
Has been fitted with an aftermarket A/C unit which blows nice cold air. but with this said the last owner. (from whom I bought the car) he lived in Florida and only needed A/C. nbsp; All the front compartment fan unit has been removed to fit this unit. also there are no heat-exchangers with this car. nbsp; but I do have some blower motor spare parts that will come with the car
Looking through the paper work I can see that it has had a complete engine rebuild. around 110. 00 miles with everything from time-cert's to cylinders and valve's. I will add the pics from the stack of service history that comes with the car. also been upgraded with the later-style 911 Carrera chain tensioners. and has had a MSD ignition system installed
I'm trying to discribe the car and it's condition the best I can and again this is a project that is almost finished I have all the parts ready to put back on the car. Bumpers. front spoiler. side spoiler. all the trim. but there are some things that you will need to buy. there are missing bolts. I have some from the painter but I can see not all of them are there
Check out some of the video to see me starting the car after it's been sitting still for over 2 yearsthe first video is just to get the engine going. a couple of more videos shows the engine running fine. actually great BUT there is smoke present. I don't know the extend of work needed to fix this but I do have a lot of brand new gasket to help seal the case and valve covers etc. The car is running and can drive
Things that I know needs attention:Paint. Engine. smokes but runs fine. Small grind in 3rd gear but only when shifting fastMaster Brake cylinder leaksAssemble all parts. (Bumpers. Glass. trim. seals. I have all but rear window seal and door seals)
Here are a couple of videos that I made from starting up the car after over 2 years sitting.
here I'm just turning the engine for the first time in over 2 yearshttp://www. youtube. com/watch?v=j76axzOi5Hw
Just getting warmed uphttp://www. youtube. com/watch?v=xIWGDhiSFI0
here the most nerve raking part getting it to run. a couple go hick-ups and a little back-fire. it has the back-fire pop-up valve http://www. youtube. com/watch?v=Ay_0U12EbU4
here its high revving with smokehttp://www. youtube. com/watch?v=3c6c33Pp4wE
Here you can hear the engine running good but smoking from some leakshttp://www. youtube. com/watch?v=PQA-SghCzro Please feel free to contact me regarding any questions about the car. as I probably have forgotten to mention items not in this description.
NOTE. this car is being sold AS-IS. no warranty or money back. please inspect and make sure what you are buying before bidding. I tried to be as honest as possible with all the things that I'm aware of. but be aware that you are buying a used and a project car that's almost done.
Thanks for looking and happy bidding
