Hi and welcome to the auction of my 1965 Mustang Fastback 2+2
I imported the car from Orlando in 1999 and I am the first and only owner registered in the UK. I am selling the car as a restoration project as it has no MOT or tax ( the tax is free )
Good pointsThe car drives well and is powered with a 289 V8 4. 7 engine with a automatic gear box. I had not driven the car for 18 months and it drove fine to and from the MOT testing station. 4 Barrell Edlebrook carb. Air condition model. front and back seats recovered approx 2 years ago. new matching door cards. roof headlining good no rips. all interior lights work. New dash surround and all clocks / dials work. radio / CD. 5 x very good tyres. all glass very good. all chrome window surrounds good. flow master exhaust system sounds nice. body panels generally solid.
I have a folder full of receipts for work done. a copy of the original title. the car is HPI clear. I have every MOT from 1999.
This car is ideal for someone who does not want to pay crazy prices for a car with 12 months mot and wants a project that can be easily restored. I Ieft it standing with wet carpets and the floor rotted. The front cowl does not need fitting for an mot but with these mustangs that is what rots and ends up leaking water into the car and consequently rots the floors.
The car will be sold with the following parts. new front floor panels for both sides of the car . new carpet cost $334. new car mats cost $103. new metal cowl assembly cost $387
The car failed the MOT on 18/03/14 with the following :-Nearside headlamp aim too highHorn not workingNearside front floor seat belt anchorage prescribed area is excessively corrodedOffside floor seat belt anchorage prescribed area is excessively corrodedRear floor seat belt anchorge is excessively corrodedNearside rear inner quarter suspension component mounting prescribed area is excessively corrodedOffside rear inner quarter suspension component mountain peascribed area is excessively corrodedNearside brake binding
I strongly suggest that you view the car before bidding as they always look better on the photos. This car is being sold as a restoration project and needs welding but someone could end up with a lovely classic car or do the work and sell it on with a nice profit. Please call mark with any questions or queries on 0797 3322984. Please please no time wasters. These cars are becoming rarer to find here and in the states plus it is expensive to import them now with the import duties. They are an investment.
Thanks for looking. Good luck and happy bidding
