FOR SALE IS A RARE FIND FROM CA. THIS IS A 1963 FORD GALAXIE COUPE. 14. 00 original miles! IT WAS ORDERED BY SOME GENTLEMEN THAT WANTED A G-CODE "THUNDER BOLT" CAR TO DRAG RACE IN 1963. WHEN THEY COULD NOT GET A REAL "THUNDER BOLT" FROM FORD. THEY DID THE NEXT BEST THING AND BUILT THEIR OWN!  THIS CAR WAS BUILT IN 1963 BY THE ORIGINAL OWNERS. TODAY WE WOULD CALL THIS A "TRIBUTE" OR "CLONE" CAR. BUT IF THIS CAR WAS BUILT TODAY YOU WOULD HAVE TO USE AFTERMARKET PARTS. THAT IS WHAT MAKES THIS CAR SO NICE TO SEE.

THIS CAR WAS ORDERED IN THE FACTORY COLORS YOU SEE WITH A 6 CYLINDER MOTOR & 3-SPEED TRANSMISSION. WHEN THE CAR ARRIVED. THE FORD FACTORY CORRECT FIBERGLASS FRONT FENDERS. HOOD AND BOTH THE FRONT & REAR BUMPER'S  WERE ADDED(STILL HAS THE METAL TRUNK LID). THE SPARE TIRE WAS REMOVED. THE DRIVE TRAIN WAS PULLED AND A REAL 60'S DRAG MOTOR WAS ORDERED. THEY CHOSE A HOLMAN/MOODY PREPPED FORD 406 C. I. BIG BLOCK V8 TOPPED OFF WITH 3X2 BARREL CARBS. A 4 SPEED WAS INSTALLED ALONG WITH THE 4-LINK STYLE REAR SUSPENSION. THE CAR WAS MAINLY USED FOR DRAG RACING MOST OF ITS LIFE. IT WAS GARAGE KEPT. THIS CAR STILL HAS A FACTORY RADIO AND A HEATER UNLIKE A THUNDER BOLT CAR. IT HAS ALMOST ALL IT'S ORIGINAL INTERIOR & THE MILES FOR THE CAR ARE CORRECT AS WE CAN DOCUMENT. THE ENGINE HAS BEEN REBUILT OVER IT'S LIFE TIME AND HAS SOME MINOR MODERN UPGRADES ADDED. IT HAS HAD HARDENED VALVE SEATS ADDED FOR USE WITH TODAYS FUELS. THE CAR HAS HAD 1 PAINT RE-SPRAY IN IT'S LIFE. NO RUST!

THE CAR HAS PERIOD CORRECT AMERICAN RACING WHEELS & TIRES. THE CAR HAS HAD ALL ITS FLUID'S SERVICED AND IS READY TO GO!

YES. THIS CAR HAS A FORD 406 C. I. MOTOR. AS YOU KNOW. IN 1963 1/2 FORD INTRODUCED THE 427 C. I. SO MOST PEOPLE BLEW UP THEIR 406 ENGINES TO GET THEM REPLACED BY THE 427.

PLEASE EMAIL ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS!!! LOOK AT MY FEEDBACK!

THE "BUY-IT-NOW" PRICE INCLUDES ENCLOSED SHIPPING FOR 1000 MILES FROM OUR ZIP CODE.

THANKS.

THANKS FOR ALL THE QUESTIONS & COMMENTS CONCERNING THIS CAR. LET ME ADD A FEW DETAILS ABOUT IT.

THE ENGINE IS A 406 C. I. SIDE DRILLED BLOCK WITH 4-BOLT MAIN BEARINGS. DURING ONE OF THE REBUILDS THE MACHINE SHOP USED MODERN ARP BOLTS THROUGHT THE ENGINE.  IT HAS THE HIPO CAST IRON SHORTY EXHAUST MANIFOLDS. IT IS A TOP LOADER 4-SPEED TRANSMISSION WITH HURST SHIFTER & LINKAGE. THE REAR END IS FPRD 9 INCH POSI-TRAC WITH 4:11 GEARS. THE REAR SUSPENSION HAS A ADJUSTABLE LADDER BAR SET UP NOT A "4-LINK" AS I LISTED. THIS IS MY BAD! THANKS. JAY
