1940 Ford Sedan

When it comes to old street rods many peoples heart resides in the early 30's but there are just as many who will tell you there isn't a better style of classic than the 1940 Ford.   With its pointed nose and bulbous fenders this 40 Ford Sedan has the right look.   On top of that. the car is unique due to being 100% factory original.   That includes the trim. drivetrain. everything.   The car was purchased new and from there put into storage for a number of years before being sold again.   It was then restored using the original parts and put in to museum storage for years which leads us to believe the 30. 12 miles on the odometer is true.   Painted in a beautiful Black. you couldn't ask for a better combination for all of that chrome and stainless.   The paint is actually one of the only non-original components on the car as it was repainted during the initial restoration.   Front and rear bumpers are in place and all of the vintage style stainless is there.   Subtle touches like the headlight bezels which are painted with the stainless bezels surrounding the turn signals are small details really make a car like this stand out when sitting next to others.   The grill has a great look with the trim in the center running up and onto the hood to the split style windshield.   You really won't find a much cleaner car out there in this original of condition.   The car has a nice stance and is riding around on original Black steel wheels with polished V8 center caps and beauty rings.   Wide white wall tires wrap the wheels and complete the nostalgic look.

Powering the is the ORIGINAL drive train that has been kept as original as possible.   However. it has been freshened up mechanically to insure it runs as it should.   The V8 flathead motor is extremely clean with everything having that smooth freshly painted look.   Behind the motor is the 3 speed transmission which is operated via the column as it would be originally.   Time to stop hearing about a "three on the tree" set up and start learning how to use it!  The car shifts well and runs down the road nicely.

In addition to the repaint the other area where a significant amount of work was done was the interior.   It has a fresh look but still appears exactly like it did from the factory.   This includes the original gauges. original steering wheel. original trim. original door handles. original window cranks. original ashtrays. original pedals. original shifter. well you get the idea.   If you see it in there. its original.

Cars like the one you see hear are only getting harder and harder to find.   The weather combined with time can easily destroy a car so ones that have been maintained like this is a rarity.   There is no telling how many exist to this date and in 20 more years even that number will get smaller.   Not everyone had a chance to pick up a 40 Ford from the factory so if you missed out don't let this one slip away!!
