1961 Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder Recreation by Modena for sale

 Modena's are very rare and rarely come on the market. titled and registered as a 1961 this recreation of a Ferrari 250 GT Short Wheel base California Spyder was produced by Modena Design and Research of El Cajon. CA back in the early 80's. This is the number # 01 car produced by Modena Design. It has a very unique history and unique documentation that will only be shared with qualified buyers.
It is a hand built fiberglass recreation powered by a Ford racing power plant mated to a 5 speed. only a handful being produced before Ferrari shut down production.  
From 1987 to 1989 a company called Modena Design produced replica's of Ferrari's famed 250 GT California Spider.  A fiberglass body is fitted to a tube frame with a reliable. powerful Ford V8  engine.  The cars are strikingly accurate. and many would never be able to tell the real 250 Cal Spyder and the Modena replica apart from the outside.  This is precisely why a Modena was used in the movie Ferris Bueller's day off.  It is also why Ferrari sued Modena Design and won a cease and desist order.   This has only made these cars more popular because now everyone knows how well these are made.  Reportedly. less than 38 exist.  All these factors made the Modena recreations collectible in their own right and unique. if odd. part of Ferrari History. mostly owned by Ferrari collectors the World over.
This is a great example of a very unique and rare collector car with super low documented miles.
