The first thing you need to understand is that I built this car for me. The way I wanted it. Not to flip. It is a frame off

restoration. every nut. bolt. and screw was replaced with new when rebuilt. The frame was painted black. the body

sand blasted. the inside floor was covered in a spray on bedliner material. from the top of of the firewall to the

tail lights. The underside was covered with a rubberized undercoating. Paint is base clear. with a clear pearl

stripe. you can see it just above the door handles.  ( my mother in law chose the color. I think she hates me).

All steering and suspension nuts and bolts are grade 8.

The car has had a front disk brake up grade.   Steering and suspension were kept stock. with all new parts.

The engine is 5. 3 vortec from a 2002 GMC Yukon. It is a LM7. Steel block. aluminum heads. 300 hp. /p>

Over 20 mpg. 87 octane.    Trans is a 4L60E. with a speedometer conversion kit.

Rear diff is stock 10 bolt with a 308 gears. and Lock right Performance locker. Exhaust is 2 1/4" with stage

3 flowmaster mufflers. All of the body panels are original 65. not aftermarket. Front and rear bumper are original

65 parts. rechromed. Windshield is new. all side windows are original 65. so there are few scratches.

The top and interior are all new. the seat springs and frame were sand blasted and painted before recovering.

The convertible top frame was sand blasted and painted before installation. The dash was kept stock.

the radio is from Custom Autosound. Front speakers are installed in the old side vents. Rear speakers are

installed behind the rear seat in a custom sheet metal partition for the convertible top. The sheet metal was

added to straighten the rear of the car.

On Mar-05-14 at 21:21:53 PST. seller added the following information:

This car was the basic model back then. It came with lights instead of gauges for oil and water. When I rebuilt it

I wanted to keep the dash original. so I kept the lights. Water temp light is on at 252 deg. Oil comes on at 7psi.

It would be easy to swap it to gauges. just change the sender units. No A. C. It was something I was going to do later. Also. No electric windows. I am a Auto glass technician by trade. and I have had to repair a lot of electric window regulators. motors. switches. over the years. The original manual windows still work after 49 years. I want themto work for the next 49.
I have had a few people ask. Why did I keep the bench seat and not change it over to buckets? Answer.  Your lady can't scoot over and snuggle up with buckets.
This car has a modern fuel injected L series motor. It is the same motor and trans combo that you will find ina modern G. M. vehicle. You can have this car serviced at any Chevy or G. M. dealer. You don't need to find a specialist for classic cars.
I was not trying to build a show car. I wanted to build a car I could drive. and not have to stop at every othergas station. A car I could count on to start every time. and reliable enough to drive across country if I wanted to. I can go to any local parts store and get anything I need off the shelf. I don't have wait for Fed EX to deliver. But I also wanted a car I could be proud of. This car is strait! The door gaps are perfect. The panel alignmentis perfect. This car has never been in a major accident. every panel fits properly.
I want this car to last for the next 50 years. The complete inside of the car body was sprayed with a truck sprayon bed liner. Any water that gets into the car won't rust out the floor now. The only part of the brake system thatwasn't replaced was the pedal. The steering and suspension parts are all new. even the springs. all the ball joints. ie rod ends. center link all new. This car drives like it did in 1965. And I do have receipts. All of the electrical and hydraulic parts of the convertible top were replaced. Pump. Lines. Hydrolic cylinders. and switch.  I never did get round to buying the rims that I wanted. The ones on the car are cheep steel rims I painted. The new proud owner of this beautifull car will get add there own style of rims.
No car is perfect. including this one. The clock doesn't work. couldn't see spending $250 on a clock. sorry. It does have an alarm. with a internal radar sensor. and remote paging. Hidden kill switch. and a shift lock.
I can't afford to give this car away. so serious bidders only please.
