Current customer rating: (432 votes ) based on** NEVER any rust. one repaint BELOW the body side moulding. it's slightly off a shade from the original paint
above the moulding.
** 4- original. working T-3 headlights original to the car.
** ICE COLD factory AC still on the original R-12 freon!!! Unreal!!!
** Original heater hoses to the car.
** Original "spiral" shocks
** Factory optional wire wheel covers on brand new tires.
** Original "aero" radio antenna
As you can see in the pictures. this Caprice is in outstanding condition inside and out. THE PICTURES ARE A TRUE REPRESENTATION of the car's overall condition. NO Rust or dents. with a few inperfections of the original paint above the body side moulding. The interior is absolutely like new!! NO wear on the seats. door panels and dash pad are perfect!! I'm using the word "perfect" because they are!! Wood grain on the dash and door panels are just as they were in 1969. Perfect headliner. no droops. sags or discoloration. Glass is outstanding. Great vinyl top with no "bubbles" of rust beneath. Chrome is original and outstanding. To sum it all up. this is an outstanding NON RESTORED 1969 Chevy Caprice Coupe!!
Mechanically. The car starts. runs and drives great. No smoke or weird noises when started cold. The Turbo 350 transmission shifts as it should. nice and smooth. The 4-barrell kicks down nicely and has plenty of power. There is a slight hesitation during acceleration. Everything seems to work as it should EXCEPT for:
** Gas guage reads empty. More than likely a faulty float
** The clock is right twice a day.
I have the original owners manual. warranty booklet with the original PROTECTO- PLATE attached as shown. The name follows ownership until Jan 2014. The SAME owner!!
