This mini-car looks like a Model A Ford that has been shrunk to 1/3 size. It is essentially a British Austin 7 assembled in the US with a different body style. The serial number is 4211 and the body type is 137 Series - A. made by Hayes Body Company. Grand Rapids. Mich. This coupe sold for 445 dollars in 1930. which was only slightly less expensive than a full sized Model A. The engine displaces 747 CCs and produces an amazing 13 horsepower. This particular car looks good. starts easily and is completely drivable. We have replaced the front I-beam axle. king pins and bushings. In addition my mechanic has boiled the fuel tank and sealed it. replaced the fuel lines and adjusted the carburetor. He also replaced the front engine seal. changed the oil and replace the spark plugs. I drive the little Austin around Montgomery. and it handles pretty good and will run as fast as you're willing to go. A pair of these cars recently completed a trip from Chile. SA to New York City. There is an owners club which offers advice and car meets. For further information call Bill at 334-224-0337 or email bill@mitchellclassics. com.
