1966 MUSTANG.....289 ENGINE....AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION....DISC BRAKES

 DISCRIPTION IN A NUT SHELL:::::::::::::  For your consideration I'm selling a good looking 1966 Mustang coupe.   The engine is a 289 cubic inch V8. the transmission a C4 3 speed automatic. the rear-end 8 inch with a good highway gearing. the brakes are disc in the front. drums in the rear. the brakes are power assisted. the springtime yellow paint is nice drive quality. the interior is very good and black. the sound system is high dollar with amps-speakers all over. the style steel wheels look new and the radial tires are good. Most everything works. even the gas gauge and interior lights.

BEWARE and HERE THIS: My cars and other cars look more perfect and cleaner in pictures than in person. If the seller does not tell you about defects you will get the car and be disappointed. I don't want you disappointed. please read carefully and come look at the car if you can. This is a good looking car that is sound mechanically to my standards. I consider this car a very nice driver with a little muscle. by driver I mean its just NO roll out of the trailer show queen that is a perfect new car. It will satisfy most people. but its no perfect $40. 00 for what I'm selling it for.

Vehicle Identification Number:  6F07C263306. the fifth digit means the car was born with a 289 engine that was a 2 barrel.

I am also a veteran of the US Army; I served as a Chinook helicopter mechanic. crew chief and instructor in the late 60s. I reserve the right to do that. I do not play the auction game and have my buddies bid the vehicles up. I just put a fair price on them and have sold 100%.

IS THERE ANY RUST PROBLEMS?   It looks real good to me! I don't see any rust problems with this car. it looks like most old cars on the under-side. Not painted and detailed. some rusty color metal and a little scale. no big swelled places or rusty holes. I never consider a car rust free unless I put it on a rotisserie and take every nut and bolt out.  

IS THERE ANY ACCIDENT DAMAGE?  None that I see.

WHY AM I SELLING THIS CAR?     I'm a 67 year old retired mechanic/classic car restorer/auto mechanics intructor. when I find a car I like. can sell for a fair market price and make a few bucks. I buy it fix a few things and resell.

PAINT:       Very shinny presentable driver quality paint. it is not a 100 point show car paint job.   The car has no big dents. a couple of ting dings that have not broken the paint. no bubbles. no peeling. 4 or 5 touched up stone chips. it look straight to me. This is very decent paint. its just not a $15. 00 paint job.  

CHROME AND BRIGHTWORK:          The chrome is very presentable. the bumpers shine good. the emblems are nice. no bad pitting. no bad dull places.

INTEROR:      The upholstery is very nice. no smells and no real wear. the head liner is nice. nbsp;the dash pad decent. door panels good. the kick panel edges are a little rough.

GLASS:   The sides window roll up and down decent. the windshield is clear.

ENGINE:    The engine is a good running Ford 289 cubic inch. nbsp; it starts good. it runs good. it has no rattles. it has no knocks. The car came with a 2 barrel carburetor Ford 2100.   Its a good engine!

EXHAUST SYSTEM:  Dual exhaust that sounds good with the deep muscle car sound. the dual exhaust has a H pipe that makes it sound better. The headers are after market full tubes. they do hang lower than stock.

TRANSMISSION:Its a 3 speed automatic that shifts good. its a Ford C4.

REAR-END:    No whines or growls. nbsp; its a 8 inch.

BRAKES:  Good brakes. they are power. the fronts are upgrade disc and the rear drums.

STEERING:   The car is not power steering. I think it drives good.

WHEELS AND TIRES:    Wheels look new. nbsp; they are the factory option Style Steel. but have to be new. they are too perfect. The tires are 14 inch and have lots of wear left.

LIGHTS:     They work. turn signals work. headlights work. tail lights work. brake lights work. interior lights work.

 SPEEDOMETER WORKS!     GAS GAUGE WORKS!  Wipers work! Horn not working!

GAUGES: 

 They work. the amp gauges never worked good on the old Mustangs.

HOW DO THE DOORS AND HOOD OPEN AND CLOSE?  

 OK for a Mustang.

HOW IS THE PANEL FIT? Normal Mustang fit. that's not perfect. The headlight housing on the passengers side does not fit good and the hood is up a little at the back. I will see if I can adjust them better.

 CAN I DRIVE THE CAR HOME? The car drives good and everything I have checked is in good condition. but I do not recommend driving any old car home. Reason. I test drive them like a garage doing repair work would. I do not take long trips in them. so it worries me when people head out in a old car.

 TRADES: Please no trades. they never work out and are just to hard!
