1971 Chevrolet Corvette – Original 454 LS5 Engine with original Four Speed Transmission. Sought after T-Top Coupe in one of the best colors – Mille Miglia Red.

I took this car in on a trade when I sold my 57 Corvette and stuck it in storage about five years ago. Do not know much about the car. but it's time to make room for a project car I am starting.

Here is what I can tell you:

Seems to be a survivor with a repaint. The engine runs way to well with zero smoke coming from the exhaust pipes to not have been rebuilt at some time. Luckily the engine code does not seem to have been touched. and verifies that this car was a 454 LS5 with 365 horsepower; 4-speed transmission; Rochester QuadraJet 4BBL carburetor;  & Hydraulic Lifters. (See Picture)

Block# - 3963512

Cylinder Heads look to be original

Carburetor – Correct not original Rochester Quadrajet #7041205 (factory reconditioned)

Intake Manifold – 3955287

Exhaust Manifold Left – 3880869

Exhaust Manifold Right – Cannot read any numbers

Distributor – 1112051

Alternator – Correct Delcotron (not original)

Clutch Housing - 3899621

Transmission – Maincase – 3925661 with correct VIN# stamping

                           Extension Housing – 3978764

                           Side cover – 3952648

Rear Differential  - 3899143 – with code AWW 328 E1 – Positraction 3. 08:1

That pretty much sums it up. The paint is not bad but not show quality. The interior is OK no rips or tears. All gauges work except the clock. The fiber optic indicators work. The windshield wipers work great as do both headlights. Pop up and down like new. Undercarriage has some rust but not bad. frame is solid.

Car has clear Arizona title but is currently garaged in our home in San Diego.
