This 1962 Sunbeam Alpine Series II (chassis B9119367ODLXR) was purchased by me in 2011 as a project. The car has a clean and clear NY registration (NY does not issue titles for classic cars but instead uses a transferable registration).  The car has factory overdrive and a hardtop (although the hardtop needs a window and headliner).
The car currently has about 64k miles showing on the odometer. Engine compression is at 120 lbs. across all four cylinders. This car needed extensive amounts of mechanical work. all of which were completed by Hugh Francis in Cooperstown. NY. who was the service manager and head mechanic at Morris Garage. the MG/Triumph/Sunbeam dealership in Oneonta. NY for many years. I have receipts and written descriptions of all the work as well as additional pics that are available upon your request.  Some of the receipts provided by the prior owner go back as far as the early 90s. including top and bottom end engine work. The work performed under my ownership includes. to name just a few. new refurbished carbs and intake. brakes. tires. stainless steel exhaust system. battery. master cylinder. clutch cylinder. gear box work. shocks. generator. starter. overdrive work. fuel pump. regulator. select pieces of chrome. various seals. gaskets. etc. and many more.
The body is in very good condition. The chrome on the door handles. rear bumper and emblems are new. and the front bumper looks very good. The car was re-sprayed by a prior owner in its original color over a prior red re-spray. Overall the paint is shiny and smooth to the touch. A half dollar sized ding in the right side under the front bumper exists that is barely visible unless you get down on your hands and knees (see pic). The chrome around the windscreen is worn and pitted. The windscreen itself is the original Triplex glass but has some minor delamination in two lower corners and was scratched by what looks like the windshield wiper arm. Last month I had a new Robbins top professionally fitted.
I have driven the car a little over 1000 miles since getting it back on the road. It is now a great driver and cruises on the freeway at 70 mph with little problem. It is available in Albany. New York (stored in my heated. dry garage)
I would be happy to show the vehicle to anyone for a pre-purchase inspection.  I am also available to discuss the car on the phone.  Just send me a note and I will be happy to provide my phone number.
