Up for auction is a slant nose 1973 Porsche 914 with a 2. 0 engine and a new center mounted carb. This car is a project but it runs. drives. and stops. I am not exactly sure on the mileage of the engine. I was told it was between 8. 00 to 10. 00 and that it was rebuilt by a local European car shop. I bought this from a guy who was moving and needed the car gone. The guy started with the mechanicals. got the car running. then got the body slanted. and as he was bringing it home from the paint shop the trailer disconnected. No serious damage done. but some on  the front bumper and a little on the drivers fender. He then parked it in his yard and moved for a new job. When I purchased the car. it had been sitting up for about 4 years. so I had to completely go through all the fuel lines and tank to get the old tar like substance out of it.  I then put a center mounted carb on it. changed the plugs. oil. replaced shift bushings. set the carpet in the car. and found most the interior pieces and set them in (seats have tears and will need to be recovered and I would just replace the door panels). The car is titled as a 1972 by mistake. but as you can see from the vin it is a 1973. The previous owner also put on stainless steel heat exchangers. gas shocks. performance rear springs. and put the more reliable 1. 8 heads on when they got the engine rebuilt. The car has an air conditioner. but I think the compressor is locked up. The floor boards are in need of repair. but I would not say replace. I think a good welder could repair them. Passenger rocker had some rust. but i had it repaired by a local welding shop. The door gap was not affected by the rus. but I couldn't put the new rocker covers on knowing there was rust underneath. so I got it fixed. The battery was relocated to the trunk. The ignition unit was bad so I pulled it and got a new one. I had planned on putting it in the steering unit. but never got to it. so the car has to be started by the ignition with screw driver. The car still needs work before it could be a daily driver. To give you a list of what it needs. I would recommend: wires. adjusting of the valves. seats bolted in. alarm reconnected or completely removed. tires ( suffer from dry rot but still hold air except for one that only last a couple of hours) and just driving the car and working out the issues.   I will also send and extra set of door panels that are in ok condition ( except for a small tear on top trim piece on one panel) and also a 930 bumper if you would prefer a chalon look. This would be a perfect winter project and could be a great daily driver come spring! NO zero feedback bidders.
