These early Willys-Kaiser-Jeep Wagoneers were the first luxury 4x4 vehicles introduced in the US. well before the term 'SUV' had been invented. They could be equipped with A/C. independent front suspension and automatic transmissions. which were uncommon in competitior 4x4's like Land Rover or International. This Wagoneer is powered by the Tornado 6 cylinder engine. which is notable as being the first US built. mass produced. overhead cam engine available in any vehicle. Although it was only installed in the Wagoneer from 1963-65. This car also features the 3 speed column shifted manual transmission. 2-speed Spicer T90 transfer case & Spicer 44 front and rear differentials.
