1955 marked the first year of the second generation of Bel Airs. Chevy's styling for the new Bel Air was crisp. clean and incorporated a Ferrari-inspired grille. New features on the '55 model were interior carpet. chrome headliner bands on hardtops. chrome spears on front fenders. stainless steel window moldings and full wheel covers. The popularity of the Bel Air skyrocketed as it was the most popular car of 1955. Today. it remains highly collectable and appeals to many classic car collectors.

A V8 engine under the hood supplied more power to the full-sized auto. new for Bel Airs that year. The Bel Airs were smooth. powerful and easy to service. The small block engine was mated to an updated wider chassis. ball-joint front suspension and came with tubeless tires. The '55 Bel Air was a hit and the fruition of the Chevrolet design team.
