Mercedes-Benz 190B Ponton

According to a recent very well respected classic car magazine article . he current market value for a very nice Ponton of this year the market value is 30 k . nd there are less than 20 in the uk . That doesnt allow for how many are original RHD models . Our Ponton is in excellent condition having benefitted from recent paintwork at a large cost to return the car to its original colour. There is no rot or rust anywhere . he condition underneath is immaculate and has been nicely waxoiled. The bright work is very good . We have taken upon ourselves to fully srvice and mot the car as it has had very very little use in the last 10 years . We have also put on a new set of perion whitewall radials as the ones on the car although not used had aged. The car is on the button and the engine is as sweat as anything . We consider this car to be of excellent value and would stand proud alongside any at much more money .
Our invsestigation show only 3 previous owners . We also hold the original log book when new in the uk .
We also hold a large history file including orignal owners manuals etc . We have the original service book with several stamps for the 1st owner .
we have a large amount of spares that will come with car.
The valuable registration which its original and transferable will stay with the car
Please note we have just put this car thru our workshops to do the jobs others left behind as the parts were hard to source (mainly steering) Also full mot now and sreviced inc replacing the brakes . e have spent approx 2k . nvoices are in the history folder .
Engine & Transmission
The engine is doing what it was designed to do . t is bombproof . It is running superb . specially after its service we had some carb adjustments to do . no leaks . o rattles or squeaks . aintains excellent oil pressure and doesnt get warm . We have carried out a service etc so should be hassle free motoring for years to come . the engine bay and chassis and underneath are all functional things but they are all very very clean and regularly maintained . Everything is oiled . reased . nd good to go .
Wheels. Tyres & Brakes
The wheels have all been re painted and the original trims have been treated to a freshen up . The tyres are brandnew .
Exterior
The coachwork and painwork are almost faultless. It hads had a quality paint done to return it to its original colour. Once stripped the car had no rust or rot issues and the body is very straight. The brightwork on the whole is very good. The front and back bumpers are in good condition . The alloy sidetrim on the sill etc does have a small amount of pitting. The front and rear screens were treated to new rubbers when the car was stripped for paint.
Interior & Equipment
The Ponton was known for being basic but built like a tank . the interior lives upto this . It has no carpets as they never did . It is very clean and very solid . ood headlining etc etc . To be honest it doesnt take much cleaning . There is a very small split 2 inches on the drivers side . n easy repair for a specialist . The original 8 track is in situe . The boot area is very tidy and clean with the original rubber matting and the jack still there .
