This luxurious model was the last of the hand-built Mercedes. Only 13 cars per week rolled off the production line. Unlike other automobiles. these cars were classics the day they rolled off the production line. and have remained so ever since. The 220SEb was first introduced in 1961 and was considered to be an immediate success. Road & Track magazine said "one of the best-looking body designs to come from any German concern. " It is exquisitely proportioned and beautifully designed. Luxurious may very well be an understatement when describing this model!!!!

Up for auction is rare and highly desirable 1964 Mercedes Benz 220SEb Coupe with RARE and highly desirable 4-Speed manual transmission (VIN# 111. 021. 10-049611). This car is in need of complete restoration!!!

There is NO title for this vehicle… It comes with Bill of Sale Only!

Only 14. 73 220SEb Coupe's were made in the period of 1961-1965!  The mechanical fuel injection. disc brakes and other improvements. made it the most sophisticated car on the road.

I purchased this Mercedes with the intention to do a ground up restoration. but as the time that I need to devote to this car is a luxury that I do not have at the moment. I need to find her a good home. This Mercedes makes a great candidate for a restoration. or a Convertible conversion and Best thing is I am selling it with NO RESERVE. so may the highest bidder win!!!!!

Previous owner took this car apart in order to be restored. but unfortunately that never happened. Glass was taken out. along with the interior. and some engine parts. and project just ended there. Car was stored for many years. and during the years. it was moved couple of times to different storages. and during those moves Glass. headlights. interior. and some engine parts ( valve cover. fuel injection pump. intake manifold. exhaust manifold. radiator) were lost and are all missing now. Car does roll without any problems. and what you see on the pictures is what you will receive!

As you can see on the pictures it received some damage to the trunk area from a trailer that was backed into it while it was in a storage. Aside from that. rest of the car is nice and straight. and doors and hood align nicely. This Mercedes has been sitting for 20+ years and the time took its toll on its paint and body. There is rust on the body and on the under carriage (please see pictures). but the good thing is that replacement sheet metal parts including the floor boards are readily available. and they are not that expensive. Original VIN# stamping is still present in the front radiator support. showing the originality of this car.

Original Color was Silver Grey (silbergrau) – Paint Code DB H140.

All in all it's a fairly complete car. that can make a very nice and fun project. or an excellent parts and donor car for your existing project. but it would be a shame for this beautiful and rare classic Benz not to see the road again!!! You can even do a conversion to a convertible as Convertibles are sky rocketing in value. and are already in $100. 00+ range!!!
