For sale here is a gorgeous custom "works style" 1960 Austin-Healey BN7 2-seater Roadster. ready for whatever you throw at it. rally it. race it. prepared to drive anywhere.  I am brokering this sale for a gentleman in Alabama. the car is located in Selma and will be sold from there. Please direct questions to me and I will do my best to answer them to the best of my ability.  Shipping arrangements will be made by the buyer. all costs will be the buyer's responsibility. we will however try to help as best as possible to make the shipping smooth and easy.  The car is stored indoors. covered and will come with a custom car cover as well. Now. onto this gorgeous car. she has been modified in some ways to be a rally type car. and loves to be driven as such.

-NOT a Tri-Carb car. but she will come with an extra set of Tri-Carbs. currently she's set up with Webers

-Engine # under the Webers is as follows: 29K/RU/H13905

-All aluminum body. minus the doors. superlight

-VIN   HBN7LU515. since this car is considered a “custom” built car. (*note* see pictures with invoice that read car as a "1962")  I would NOT take the VIN tag into consideration as a Heritage car. since it was built from two Healey's. I feel that is the best way to represent it. so if there are questions in regards to it's lineage so again. the best way to consider this car is as a custom built car. if originality is your thing. this will probably not be the car for you.

-I have done extensive research on this car. when I had her on eBay. there were still some unknowns and I've done my best to uncover what I could in regards to the history of this car.   I sat down and had a good chat with the gentleman that built this car in the early 90's and he had a lot of time and money into it.   As the gentleman explained it to me. I will do my best to represent the car as such.   Please do not hesitate to ask questions though. and along with the owner. we will do our very best to answer them.

-This car was built in 1992/'93 by a gentleman in Florida.   He took about 2 years to complete this car. and built a race engine (pictures) as an extra engine for this car. the engine NOW in the car is NOT the race engine. but still has had work done to it.   He did not remember the exact specifications (BHP etc) when I spoke with him. but said he remembers he bored it out (. 30 over he said) and domed the pistons (read full info).

-To hopefully answer some questions in regards to the build. I asked Ron. the gentleman who built her. a lot of questions. and he did his best to answer.

(In Ron's words while we chatted on the phone)

-From new. the car was a US car and raced in St Louis when new.

-Ron bought the car approx. '78/'79. where it got THREE restorations from him. the last being the one as you see the Healey sit today.  He raced it (locally) during the 1st and 2nd restorations. but after finishing the 3rd restoration in 1993 (he started it in '91/'92) he did NOT race it after this.  The chassis is actually from a '62 BN7. the chassis tag. and main parts are from the '60. doors. hood etc. Ron built two engines originally for this car. the one that sits in it. and a "race" specific one. that one was sold. and was mainly used for racing it prior to the 3rd restoration.

-There is a bias adjustment under the floor mats to tune the front/rear brakes for racing (ie gain. less etc)

-He built custom brackets in the rear to use Jaguar disc brakes

-Those shiny reservoirs. Ron custom fabricated those (he was a master machinist). they direct air to the brakes (funneled through the grill I believe)

-Clutch- a race clutch was on the race engine. but this particular one has a stock clutch (in his words)

-It is a regular overdrive system. built to kick in. in 3rd

-The engine was balanced (as he said all his built engines were)

-He could NOT remember the exact rear axle ratio. but believed it was rather high. around 3. 73's

-Standard rockers

-Standard cams (he couldn't remember specifics on the camshaft)

-He remembers putting Chrysler pistons on this Healey (he had 2-3 at one point). he remembered they were domed but doesn't remember specifics

-The engine. he knows it was machined. the crank ground down. and he remembered that he bored it out to . 30 over. or possibly a tad bigger. but he does not remember exactly what size (so 3. 0L is likely. or a tad under)

-It has the front sway bar he remembers installing

-He put a stainless exhaust header on as well. couldn't remember the brand

-With the information from Ron and the current owner. we feel representing the car as a custom built BN7 is the best idea. Since two cars were used to build this one especially take into account if you're looking for “true blue” originality. this probably isn't the car for you. They both wanted a “works” type driver. capable of pushing at speed and comfortable as well. so that's what Ron built. and that's what attracted Scott (owner) to her.

-Originally a LHD car. when the restoration was done she was converted to RHD. and originally she would of been a side-shift car. but now she has a correct center-shift with correct "on the shift" overdrive. that works like a charm

*In 2007 a $12. 00 service with receipts was done including an overhaul and rebuild of the transmission and overdrive system*

-4 spd w/ Overdrive as mentioned

-Wilton carpets

-Minilites w/ real Knock-Off centers and new Toyo rubber

-67. 70 miles sit on her today

-A very rare. and correct Hardtop comes with the car. these are rare and not usually seen on roadsters. the correct "rear exit" piece was installed of the rear of the hardtop. she is lined inside as well

-The dash is new and custom. as well as the interior. which was all engineered with comfort and drive ability in mind

-She has side pipes. front air vents and rear-hood vent

-A fuel cell in the trunk (see pictures)

-In 2010 a $1. 00 documented service was performed for the tach and speedometer

-Custom radiator (big) and fan shroud. documented. she does not run hot

-Disc brakes all around (front discs came from the factory. the rear has been converted to Jaguar discs) there is an obvious big difference in stopping power and it helps

-Upgraded shocks/coil over suspension upgrade as well. very tight through corners. and handles like a dream

-Comes with soft top as well. aluminum Racing seats. Fire extinguisher. Tonneau cover and a roll-bar (regular style) are included in the final sale

*Note. the doors are on the first catch. and the hood is not strapped down. there are no fitment issues.

*Note I will be happy to send large photo's and paperwork information through Photobucket to interested buyers.   Thanks

-This Healey drives absolutely phenomenally. it is a blast through corners. and a blast in the straight. there will be a very happy new owner who can simply throw the keys in the ignition. fire her up. and blast across the country or to the grocery store. she's happy either way!

Please call me. Ken. @ 203-770-0839 to discuss.
