My lincoln continental mk4. Seriously. people see it and don't think it's real. It's not for the shy.
I bought it a few years ago and it's been a great car. It's had a fair amount of work put in and like all old cars has plenty of bits left to do. New parts fitted recently;
Camshaft and all hydraulic followers.
Oil pump
Water and fuel pump
Viscous fan coupling
Both head gaskets
Full exhaust system
Uncracked second hand manifolds
Mallory duel points distributor
Mallory coil It's also fitted with an edelbrock performer carb and aluminium manifold.
Radiator re-cored a year ago and new hoses
These cars have ford 460ci. The biggest engine ford ever put in a passenger car. On the document it's listed as 7600cc. Nowt much beats firing it up first thing and moving off with that burble.
Bodily it's sound and not full of holes. It was painted a few years ago and there is some minor rust in places and chips to the paint. It polishes lovely and looks the nuts.
The rear bumper was nasty and had been re chromed once 5 years ago. The chromer quoted telephone numbers to do it with no promise it would last so I had it painted. I was pleased with it and looks great no rust at all and glossy. Front bumper corners really need doing. One chrome surround is missing from a front running light
It's got slot-mags wheels that are in great shape and pure seventies. All tyres are in great condition no cracks and lots of tread.
Inside is fair. New carpet 2 years ago still fresh. Leather seats. rears like new and front nicely worn in and comfy. Previous owner fitted a floor shifter. Door cards are a bit untidy and the plastic trim the electric window controls are fitted to are broken.
It's mot'ed and taxed till January.
I may consider a px on the following only.
Full size American day van (No v6 stuff)
Any full size ford 65-72
Mercedes- any v8 merc considered. I want an early 500sec but try if you want a deal on yours.
Older 928 Porsche.
V8 series 1 discovery with gas
Lhd no probs.
you can try a different px but I don't do small. Or diesel. And only v8s.
