This car is believed to have been sold new to its first owner in Switzerland and within a couple of years it then moved to Spain where it spent about fifteen years before returning to the UK.
This outstanding example has mainly been used for show purposes and it is extremeley rare being what is believed to be the only LHD series1 MK2 1600E in the UK. the Cortina is a very well known car in the 1600E owners club.
I have tried really hard to fault this car today. after driving it for about 20 miles and up to temperature. they car performs superbly with no faults whatsoever. the interior is exceptional. the only fault that I could find was a tiny crack on the top of the dash which is not unsightly and an easy repair. The body is "out of this world" The Saluki bronze paint has a beautiful finish. the one and only fault is one very small blister half the size of a new 5p piece on the bottom of one of the doors.
The Cortina is probably the nicest one left so please do not delay.
Overseas enquiries are welcome and I can arrange transport to most UK docks at a pre arranged fee.
The Cortina is currently taxed and it mot is valid until August. it has done no more than 300 miles since its last MOT which it passed without any advisories.
This outstanding car is beautifully detailed everywhere. some classic cars are let down by certain things but everywhere you look on the Cortina it is in wonderful condition. the engine bay is spotless. inside the boot looks like the day it left the factory. the seats are perfect and unmarked. the carpets are in superb condition and are free of tears and fading. the chrome and glass are unmarked. the paintwork has the lustre and shine of a brand new car.
