2001 ASTONISHING AND UNMOLESTED FIRST GENERATION HONDA INSIGHT WITH BONKERS MPG!

On a recent trip from London to York I was able to achieve an almost other-worldly average of 88. 1 miles per gallon from this amazing machine. From its earliest days in 2001 the futuristic digital display of my particular car shows an incredible ‘Whole Life' average of 71. 9 mpg! As a rare and entirely original and unmolested UK car. this superb vehicle must surely be regarded as a future classic.

 In 45000 miles of typically Honda. trouble free motoring. this rare gem of a car has literally paid for itself in fuel savings alone and there is nothing else out there in the real world that comes close to what I call ‘fresh air motoring'.

 At the turn of the century. Honda created something really rather very special with the world's first commercially available petrol/electric hybrid two seat coupe. aptly named the Insight.

 Using pioneering technologies. they were able showcase ultra lightweight aluminium and composite bodywork derived from their work with the NSX supercar. incredibly frugal lean burn V-Tec power cleverly linked to a self managed brushless electric motor to create their Integrated Motor Assist and with an automatic stop start functionality their boffins were able to achieve the lowest CO2 emissions ever seen in a petrol engine car with an incredible figure of only 80g/km. This figure still remains unbeaten today by any mainstream manufacturer – even Fiats remarkable TwinAir and Smarts diminutive ForTwo don't come close.

Dynamically far more fun than you might imagine. these technologically advanced little cars provide an absolutely unique driving experience with their rev-hungry V-Tec engine and stiff. ultra lightweight chassis giving a taut and positive response on twisty tarmac. On long runs. no matter how much of a petrol head you might be. it becomes seriously rewarding to observe the mpg gauge creeping up and up. sometimes staying beyond the magical 100 mpg mark for mile after mile as you try to squeeze the last drop out of every gallon of hideously expensive. over priced fuel – in a quiet. light green sort of way. this car almost sticks two fingers up at the Establishment as the Government continues trying to price us off our roads!

 I'm happy to answer any questions you may have if you're interested in a car such as this and make no mistake. I'm a real enthusiast and I'm hooked. This genuine car is only now for sale as I've recently purchased yet another one. this time in my favourite and rare colour of the motor show launch car.

 Although all the paint appears genuinely original and there are no scraped bumper corners. dinged panels or scuffed mirror cases. inevitably on an aluminium car. there are a few small blemishes under the paint where slight oxidisation has taken place. These slight blemishes are confined to just a few small marks and go some way to support its incredible originality. The ultra light alloy wheels are not bruised and battered as many are but there are signs of lacquer peel in places with some spidering underneath the lacquer. Ideally. they could be refinished to a show standard but as this is my everyday car. I've not had them done - again. originality is king.

These cars are truly fantastic. but they aren't for everyone. Although it might be capable of an astounding 67 miles per hour in second gear with the promise of a spirited drive. it rewards being driven gently like no other. These cars are about as different from the norm as it's possible to get and as such. they demand to be owned and driven by an unusual breed of enthusiast.
