Untitled Document Mahindra - Willys/M38a1 Jeep MOT Until 17th Sept 2014 and Taxed till end July 2014   A Fantastic opportunity to purchase and own this fantastic Jeep. which has been converted to a Willys/M38a1 Jeep A load of time and money has been spent on this and I'm offering it up for sale now so I can start a new project Features include:   2. 5L Pegeout Diesel Engine Brand New MOT (Will have one placed on it before auction end) Full top down re-build undertaken 4 years ago 5 x CJ 16" Wheels & 5 x Ex MOD 7. 5 Tyres (With hardly any use) Description This was a Hard-top. as you can see from the "Pre-Conversion" pics below. but I've converted her into a military/M38a1 Willys style Jeep from the 1950's - A lot of time. effort and costs have gone into this conversion. the work included: Chopping the hard-top 5 x CJ Wheels & 5 x ex-MOD Tyre Sanding down and repainting to 'Olive' Green (Hand painted) Willys Jeep Wing Mirrors & Gear knob Removal of original seats and replaced with Willys Jeep front and rear seats & Willys Seat Cushions Chopping rear of Jeep and moving spare wheel carrier Soft-Top Land Rover style roof added. using Land Rover series frame and Canvas hood Purchasing and adding Jerry can. Jerry-can holder & Strap New break seals and break cylinders Storage/tool box bolted to rear of Jeep Seat belt added to rear In summary. I've spent well over £1. 00 and very many hours on her during the past few months. with the wheels and MOD tyres alone costing £500!!! The Jeep also benefited from a bottom-up rebuild around four years ago. this included taking the body. engine off and sandblasting the chassis. before stripping down. cleaning everything and replacing it all together. Again some pictures from the original re-build are included at the end I chopped the original doors off and have put these back on for Winter. they are fixed. but can be removed in a few mins for summer driving (Single Long Bolt hold them in place - 1st pic above showing Jeep without doors). I find that the doors do cut down on the amount of cold wind coming in through the side. The Jeep also has a heater (not perfect). which allows a small amount of warm air in around your feet! During the last few weeks I've also created a canvas roof for her. it's not quite finished. just needing the fixings added to the widscreen - this will be completed in time for auction end (I have all the parts The Jeep has a 2. 5L Pegeout engine. which runs well. with only a small tiny oil leak. which is fairly normal for an old diesel. it smokes a little when cold. but can motor all day at a steady 60mph. There are no additional issues that I'm aware of. Please remember that the Jeep is 22+ years old and very basic. so please do not expect a perfect and modern drive/journey & comfort. Gears all work well (4 speed + reverse). with the 4WD and High/Low ratio also working (Video below shows them in action) As the re-build was only a few years ago. then the body and chassis are in really good condition. with no rust points! The body as usual for a car of this age. does have some small dings here and there. but nothing serious (See pics of underside and wheel arches) She also comes with tow hitch and working electrics Original Willys Jeeps and M38a1's are going for £12. 00+ - so this is a perfect opportunity to get a the same look. with a better ride for a fraction of the price. and you also get a diesel engine. so better economy (I get around 30mpg) MOT till Sept 2014 and Car Tax runs out at the end of July 2014 - so again. all you'll need to do is add some insurance (I currently pay around £130 fully comp for a year with limited mileage of 1500 miles) I think that's about it for now. although I may have missed a few items - please drop me a question and I'd be happy for you to come and view/test drive before selling. but please not time wasters!
