Mercedes-Benz : 300-Series 300SDL Turbo for sale

Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.1) based on 329 votes
For sale is a 1987 Mercedes Benz 300SDL Turbo that I have been restoring for several years.  This vehicle is about 75-80% completed but still needs several items restored to be considered full restored.  This vehicle is all original paint. leather. and wood. any restoration and/or repairs have been completed using 100% certified Mercedes-Benz parts.
When I got the vehicle many systems did not function but after several years I can say I have restored full functionality to almost everything in the vehicle.  A list of the systems that need attention follows a list of the new items:
NEW Items:- New Windshield- New Tie-rod Ends- New Read Sway Control Ends- New Tires- New Brake Pads and ABS sensors- New Fuel Tank filtration Screen- New Headlights- New Vacuum lines and vacuum valves
Items Still Needing Attention:- Mileage is unknown.  The odometer does not work (a classic problem with this model) so I do not know the actual mileage of the vehicle.  The repair requires removing the gauge cluster.  I have the tools to do the job. just haven't done it yet.  I'm including the tools so you can fix this problem after you buy the car. - A/C does not work and several efforts to restore functionality have failed.  I assume there is a system leak or the compressor needs to be replaced to restore A/C functionality.  As a sidebar the heater. fans. thermostat. etc. all work fine. - Right rear electric window does not work - The motor works and the glass is fine. however a small nylon clip that connects the window to the motor assembly is broken. - Front sway control ends are soft - These control the smoothness of the ride in the front suspension system.  Since they are soft the ride is not as good as it could be.  I have purchased two new control ends but haven't had time to install them.  They are included with the sale so you can do it yourself after you buy the car. - Motor mounts - The motor mounts are intact and work just fine but have partly collapsed.  Replacing them will improve engine performance and the ride by smoothing out the engine.   I have purchased two new motor mounts (and the special Mercedes tool you need to remove and install them) but haven't had time to install them.  They are included with the sale so you can do it yourself after you buy the car. - Turbo needs to be rebuilt since there is an exhaust leak in the system when the vehicle first starts.  After the system has gotten hot and up to operating spec. the leak seals itself.  Additionally I am not getting 100% power during acceleration so the turbo leak is impacting performance.  A rebuild will fix these problem but I haven't had time to get to this yet. - Several exterior body dents - After all the years there are about 6-8 small dents in the exterior of car.  These are all about 1/2" to 1/4" deep.  None have broken through or chipped the paint and are hard to see unless you see them in a good cross-light.
Some Additional Information: - As mentioned in several places I am including many new parts that I purchased for the restoration.  In addition to the aforementioned parts I am including several special Mercedes tools. oil filters. fuel filters. gaskets. o-rings. and vacuum pumps. This is NOT a project car.  The car runs well and most systems are fully functional.   If you buy this car you can drive it home.  It is fully street legal and passes its yearly safety inspection with flying colors. - I continue to work on this car when I get the chance so some of the items mentioned may fixed and be fully restored by the time the sale is complete.
Valuation:The NADA Guide puts the value of this car. fully restored at about $10. 00.  I am selling the car below the "low retail" price of $4. 00 because it needs work to be fully restored.
