Want a super cool cruiser that's ready to show? How about one with some of the best vintage styling ever draped over two doors and four tires? If the answer is a resounding "YES". this 1940 Ford Deluxe is exactly the car you've been searching for! With its reliable Chevrolet V8. rugged 3-speed transmission and stunning gold and white color combination. this coupe is an ideal classic for anyone who enjoys exploring the open road. If you're looking to add a little spice to your weekend routine. here's the perfect way to take Sunday drives to a whole new level!

With its wind-swept design and classic good looks. Ford's 1940 Deluxe series has always been a rare and highly desirable line of cars. And not surprisingly. gearheads. customizers and 70 years' worth of fans have elevated it to one of hot rodding's greatest cultural icons. This all-steel Ford began life as an authentic 1940 Deluxe and. with the help of a thorough frame-off restoration. has been transformed into one smooth-driving show queen. The car's build began with a complete tear down of every panel of its rock-solid fuselage. Once those sinuous surfaces were massaged to perfection. glossy gold two-stage was sprayed on thick and clean. And today. this sizzling classic is a fully sorted hot rod that. despite being a few years out of the shop. is still cooler than pretty much any car at any show its owner chooses to attend!

There really isn't much you can do to make a 40s Ford more attractive. The car's streamlined styling was a home-run when originally introduced; and today. it's a stunning example of some of the strongest elements of the highly regarded Art Deco movement. At the front of this razor-sharp coupe. a stainless-trimmed hood. which reaches high into the air and serves as the main focal point of the car's ornate face. flows into a Deluxe grille that's tethered by a seamless. "V8" branded latch. At the sides of that grille. sculpted fenders center pristine. chrome-trimmed headlights above a curved bumper that's fitted with a "Ford" branded guard. Behind those fenders. small stainless wipers clear smoked glass that's accented by a small. era-correct mirror. Below that glass. textured stainless trim. which runs from the corners of the grille to the sides of the trunk. hangs between cursive "Ford Deluxe" emblems. streamlined door handles and a chrome fuel cap. And behind that cap. a red "Ford V8" emblem triangulates chevron tail lights. a chrome trunk handle and a second curved bumper.

Hoist this Ford's snug fitting hood and you'll find a 350 cubic inch Chevrolet V8 that's been fully rebuilt and professionally detailed for show. At the top of the Jet Black mill. air flows from three louvered air cleaners to three Rochester carburetors. which are juiced by stainless fluid lines and a small Summit pressure gauge. The resulting air/fuel mixture makes its way from an Edelbrock aluminum intake to cast iron heads. which are capped with finned Edelbrock valve covers. When those heads flood the engine's cylinder banks. a traditional points distributor sequences fire through high quality MSD Street Fire plug wires. Resultant gases escape via ceramic coated block hugger headers. The big engine's cooling is provided by a gold and black radiator. which is seated in front of a familiar flex fan. And overall. the car's clean. tri-tone engine compartment is exceptionally well done. featuring accessories like chrome hood hinges. trick dipsticks and a high quality Lokar throttle linkage.

Throw this classy cruiser on a lift and you'll find a thoroughly restored chassis that features a roster of choice upgrades. Behind the stout small block. a GM Turbo-Hydramatic 350 spins a rugged Ford 8-inch via a durable Dan's driveshaft. At the front of that proven drivetrain. a custom. Mustang II-style suspension combines fresh shocks with modern power steering. At the back of the car. a factory leaf suspension is fitted with traditional lowering blocks. Braking is handled by a combination of power discs and power drums. Spent gases travel from the aforementioned headers to large-diameter pipes. sporty Flowmaster mufflers and polished. rear-mounted tips. Power meets the pavement via painted and pinstriped wheels. which twist beefy BF Goodrich wide whitewall radials around stainless. Ford Deluxe trim. And the car's clean. Satin Black floorpan is dotted with details like a chrome flywheel cover. a modern brake booster and a chrome transmission pan.

Open the doors and you'll find a tastefully upgraded interior that combines spectacular gold paint with clean white trim. The firm bench seat is supportive. feels soft enough to take a nap on and features attractive gold piping. In front of that seat. a painted and pinstriped dash hangs a polished instrument panel and classy VDO gauges above an MP3-compatible Kenwood. Below that dash. high quality carpet anchors color-keyed floor mats beneath billet foot pedals and re-upholstered kick panels. At the edge of that carpet. stylish side panels hang correct door hardware below chrome window frames. Above those frames. a full-length headliner anchors an oval mirror in front of gold-piped visors and a switch-lit lamp. In front of the driver. a wrapped banjo steering wheel spins around a polished. tilting column. And behind the passengers. Rockford Fosgate speakers front a fully upholstered trunk.

It doesn't matter whether you're a Ford guy. Mopar guy or Chevy guy. this impressive Deluxe is one of those cars that transcends barriers and claims universal appeal. Its great looks. great performance. and great color combo all add up to an exceptional classic that can be driven and enjoyed every day of the summer. Indulge as is. or tinker with it to make it sharper. either way you'll have a high value cruiser that has unmatched curb appeal and the muscle to back it up!
