I am offering this 1965 Mustang Fastback 2+2 for sale to the highest bidder with NO RESERVE.   Here's what I've been told about the car from the 2nd (previous) owner who was a nice. elderly gentleman:

The car was sold new in the Milwaukee area.   This 2nd owner purchased the car. used. in 1967 and has owned it until last fall when I purchased it.   He stated that the mileage is correct at slightly less than 27. 00 miles (when he bought the car. it had 9. 00 miles on it).   For the last 30 years or so. he put between 100 and 200 miles per year on the car for short spins and parade fun.   On the underside of the hood. he wrote the mileage and date as to when he did an oil change (yearly). and an oil/filter change (about every other year) in pencil.     The car appears to have all of the original drive line (6 cylinder engine. Auto Trans. etc).

This was a Wisconsin car all of its life.   Even though the car was always garaged. it still suffered from the Midwest elements.   Around 1980. the previous owner brought the car to a local body shop to take care of some rust. and change the color.   The original color appears to be white.   The work included replacing both complete rear quarter panels (with NOS replacement panels). replacing the last 12” of the rear frame rails. and patching the floor boards.   The car was then re-sprayed with the current red paint job.   All of the 30-year-old work (and paint) has held up very well as the pictures show. however. a few areas are starting to show signs.   The floor boards are rusted through again and should be replaced. as the pictures show.   The engine bay is crusty. original. but solid.   The owner also sprayed foam (like “Great Stuff”) in between some panels to reduce road noise (between the front fender and lower cowl area) as you can see in some of the pictures.

I noticed that the driver's door did not appear to be the original (and the door tag is missing).   The gentleman told me that the door had already been replaced when he bought the car in 1967.   There is also evidence of filler in the rocker. but not due to rust.   It leads me to believe that the car was lightly hit on that side and repaired in 1967.   There is no evidence of any other structural damage. and. of course. this is all speculation.   The outside of the door is nice. but lower inside had fiberglass repair- noticeable. but holding up well.   All other panels appear correct and original.

This is a complete. running. driving car with a good matching title.   The car is actually tight down the road. and everything works except for the radio (and the dash is cut by the radio).   The car has factory power steering and power brakes.   The 6 –banger sounds healthy and the transmission shifts as it should.   Tires are older. but look new.   Brakes work as they should.   There is an exhaust leak (either the doughnut or manifold gasket).   This car would probably drive cross-country. but I wouldn't trust it myself without a thorough mechanical inspection.

This car came from the factory with a deluxe interior.   The interior is original and looks good.   The rear fold-down seat is nice with very good original chrome.   The rear interior panels are also very nice with no speaker holes.   The center console has seen better days…apparently the grand-children were a little rough on it and the lower plastic has multiple cracks.   The headliner has been attacked by mice with a hole here and there.   The original carpet looks its age.   Door panels are decent.   All of the glass is good.

·         6 Cylinder engine

·         Automatic transmission

·         Deluxe interior

·         Power steering

·         Power brakes

·         Low mileage assumed

·         Good. matching Title

·         No Reserve

This car can be enjoyed as is and would last a long time. or could be slowly restored while being enjoyed.   It would also be a good candidate for an all-out restoration- buyer's choice.

PLEASE READ

I am selling this car with NO RESERVE- the high bidder will own this car.   It is being sold AS-IS.   The buyer will be required to send a $1. 00. 00 non-refundable deposit within 3 days from the end of the auction.   The balance of the purchase price must be paid when the car is picked up. but no longer than 10 days from the end of auction.

The buyer is responsible for pick up. or transport.

The car is available for personal inspection. and I highly encourage this.   Please contact me to arrange as I am available most times.   If you need more information. or specific pictures. let me know before you bid so I can get you what you need.   I am also willing to discuss by phone.  As you can see by my feedback.
