1950 Cadillac 2-Door Hardtop Coupe

1950 Cadillac 2 Door Hardtop Coupe. Was originally shipped new to Oklahoma City. Oklahoma on July 31. 1950. Car found its way to Arizona as it had Arizona Plates on it when I purchased it. The previous owners said he lived in Arizona at the time and moved to California in the early eighties. He was going to restore it but restored a Convertible instead. He used the Engine/Transmission from this car but left everything else intact on the car. I was buying some other car parts from him when I saw the car and asked him if it was for sale. We made a deal and I took it home for my next project. I started the project in 1994 when a Friend of mine. just up the street. who restored Cadillac Convertibles of the Sixties and had several Coupes for parts cars said "let me build you up an Engine / Transmission from one of my parts cars for your Fifty" He was a machinist by trade so the project was off the ground. He installed the Engine. Transmission. Rear End. Power Brakes with Disks in the front and Power Booster Unit on firewall where heater unit used to be. After he got the car fully operational. I took the Car back to my shop and started putting Her back together. I installed a new wiring harness and converted to 12 Volt System. I installed a Vintage Heating & Air Conditioning System under the Dash and installed the Vents in the Dash. Also installed a AM/FM CD Player in place of the radio. The Speedometer unit was damaged. so I sent the Shell to Dakota Digital and had them installed Digital Guages in it. Also did the same with the Clock. Other than those changes. I kept the rest of the interior mostly stock in appearance.   I had the Front & Rear Bumpers plus Grille rechromed and Stainless Steel Polished  and then installed them. I had a new Tinted Windshield put in along with new side glass. Rear Window is original as it was not available new but I did have it tinted. I had electric Windows installed in the Doors but left the Crank Rear windows the way they were as they worked fine unlike the door ones. The last thing that was done was the Upholistery. I took it to a Shop along with a Brochure of a 1953 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible and had him duplicate the Interior from it which came out Fantastic! New Wide White Whitewall Tires and she was ready to travel. Her first major trip was an Americruse to Aspin. Colorado. in 1998 to a big Car Show there. and passing through Nevada. Utah. in July. and no problems. Car drove great. This Car is a Cruiser and not a Trailer Queen! Have all records of restoration work done to car.
