DISCRIPTION IN A NUT SHELL:::::::::::::  For your consideration I'm selling a cool daily driver quality 1946 Ford Super Deluxe. 1946 was a unusual year because of cars not being built after 1942 until the end of World War 2. the 1946 is about the same as the 1942.  This car has 4 doors with rear suicide doors. the back doors are hinged at the rear. so the door open at the front. The car drives good. stops good and runs good. The engine is a rebuilt flat-head V8. I think it a 239 cubic inch. The transmission is a manual that shifts good with 3 shifter on the column. 3 on the tree. The brakes are drums and rebuilt and the steering manual. The body is very good. the floors have never been under-coated so you can see what your buying. The underside in not beautiful. but it looks solid and the floors look original to me. The paint is weak. lots of specs. some touched up chips. a little dulling. a area at the rear that was repainted with bad preparation. I know you can't see the defects in the pictures. but believe me they are real. This is a driver paint quality. looks good at a glance. but weak under inspection. it satisfied the last owner. The side stainless must have been put on new. it looks great. the bumpers are pitted and painted. the horizontal grill bars are very nice. the top grill center is very pitted. The glass is nice. other than the passengers side of the windshield. it has a long crack. past owner did not replace it because of the history (it has a 1958 Texas inspection sticker). the drivers side has a very small stone chip. The 4 tires on the ground are like new Coker's with new hubcaps and beauty rings. The interior is super nice. not original material. but very good with no real wear. The car drives down the road very good and has good power for a Flathead.

Vehicle Identification Number:   99A1294845. the VIN is stamped on the frame under the hood and can be read easily.

Mileage reading on the car today:  74359 reading. but the odometer is not working.

TITLE: Clear title in hand with a VIN that matches.

HISTORY: Here is what I was told by the past owner. The car was sold in Texas and was brought to Kentucky by Venus Ramey. Venus Ramey was the Miss America in 1944 and a very interesting lady if you do some research on her.  After leaving her home in Kentucky to work for the war effort in Washington. DC she ran for Miss America and won. She work hard for war bond sales and her picture was put on a B17 airplane.  True or not I can't say for sure. but it could be the title does say last state of registration was Kentucky.

LONG DETAILED LISTING BELOW!!!!!!!!!! The following long listing tells you more details about the car. who I am. where the car is. how to pay. how to ship and more.

It is boring unless you have interest to buy. if you do you will like all the information I give.

WHO YOU ARE BUYING FROM:  My name is Ron Watson and I live in the small town of Athens. TennesseeAthens is called the friendly city”. We are located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in east Tennessee. I am 67 years old and work with my son Keith who is now 41. I am now retired and living my dream restoring. selling and improving classic cars. For 12 years I was an auto mechanics instructor at TennesseeTechnologyCenter here in Athens. I am also a veteran of the US Army; I served as a Chinook helicopter mechanic. crew chief and instructor in the late 60s. I did spend a year in Vietnam.   I'm Southern Baptist faith and proud to be an American.   I've been married to the same good woman for 44 years. LIFE IS GOOD IN THE GREEN HILLS OF EAST TENNESSEE!

SORRY. I DO NOT SHOW CARS ON SUNDAY AND I MAY BE HARD TO GET ON THE TELEPHONE: I go to Church on Sunday. I spend time with my family. I'm 67 years old. I need some rest. I love these old cars. but they are not my life!!!!!!!!!!!! Please call and I will be happy to show cars 6 days a week if I'm home.

SORRY I DO NOT DO VIDEOS: I'm 67 years old and have sold every car I have every tried to. so I'm not motivated to do videos. Please just come look and be happy.

THANK YOU. BUT NO TRADES!!!!! I have wasted lots of time talking to guys about trades and they are just too hard.   I have no interest at all about trading. my car sell without the hassle.

WHAT IS THE LOWEST YOU WILL TAKE FOR THE CAR? I will take $11. 00 on ebay and $11. 00 if you buy direct. please don't waste our time with lower offers.

WILL YOU SELL THE CAR DIRECT OFF EBAY MOTORS? Yes. I'm not crazy. I want to sell the car! I know lots of you guys are not registered with PayPal and just use ebay as a research tool. I will sell you direct. I reserve the right to do that. I do not play the auction game and have my buddies bid the vehicles up. I just put a fair price on them and have sold 100%.

THE WAY I SEE CAR RATINGS:

100 POINT SHOW CAR: Car has had a proffesional nut and bolt restoration complete and perfect in all aspects or a vehicle in absolutely perfect original condition. A car that is brand new on the showroom floor should be near a 100 point car. but they usually are not!

DAYLY DRIVER: Major components function. and the vehicle is safe to drive. but may need minor repairs. The car looks fair cosmetically. but may have flaws in the paint and some brightwork thats not perfect. Amateur restorations usually fall into this category. as do old professional restorations that have deteriorated due to use and exposure to the elements.

IS THERE ANY RUST PROBLEMS?    I consider this a good body for a 1946 model car. The underside is ugly. it has never had under coating or painted. it has rusty color metal. but no big rusty holes and the frame is solid. I think the body panels are original. the bottom of the rear quarter has a rusty edge. No rusty holes in the body. no rusty swelled places. but some rough body work at the rear.

IS THERE ANY ACCIDENT DAMAGE?  None that I can find.

WHY AM I SELLING THIS CAR?     I'm a 67 year old retired mechanic/classic car restorer/auto mechanics intructor. when I find a car I like. can sell for a fair market price and make a few bucks. I buy it fix a few things and resell.

PAINT:        The paint on this car looks good in the pictures. it is not perfect. The body is straight with no big dent and no rusty swelled places. The paint is old with some touched up chips. some dull places. some specs. some rough body work at the back with a repainted area at the back. All said the paint still satisfied the past owner and will lots of guys on a budget buying a classic car.

CHROME AND BRIGHTWORK:           The side stainless look like new. the bumpers painted. the grill good other than the center upper cap that has several pits.

INTEROR:      The upholstery is very nice. no smells and no real wear. nbsp; The headliner nice. seat covers nice. carpet nice and door panels nice. The chrome on the dash trim is pitted.

GLASS:    The glass is good and bad! I think all the glass has been replaced other than the right side of the windshield. Past owner said he did not do it because it had the 1958 Texas sticker on it.

ENGINE:    The engine is a good running Ford 239 cubic inch ( I think it a 239). nbsp; it starts good. it runs good. it has no rattles. it has no knocks. its a old car and may leave oil drops on your floor. but no bad leaks. The engine runs cool according to the past owner. he had the radiator redone and put a electric fan on with a switch. The ignition is electronic and by Mallary. The car has been converted over to a 12 volt system.

EXHAUST SYSTEM:  Used. but OK. It is single exhaust.

TRANSMISSION: 3 speed manual that is good. 3 on the tree shifter shifts good. clutch is smooth with no slip.

REAR-END:    No whines or growls.

BRAKES:  OK brakes. past owner said he put lots of new stuff on like wheel cylinders. the brake lines do look new. Car has about 1/2 pedal. its OK for me. but I'll adjust it up a little.

STEERING:   I think the car drives great. no power steering. but the car drives fairly easy with the big old steering wheel and correct size tires.

WHEELS AND TIRES:     4 new Coker tires on the ground with new looking hubcaps and beauty rings.

LIGHTS:     Headlights and tail lights work. no turn signals came on this year model car.

The horn works. the speedometer is not working. the heater fan is not working (I guess because it is 6 volt).

Oil gauge is working. temp gauge is working. gas gauge is not working.

HOW DO THE DOORS AND HOOD OPEN AND CLOSE?

 Good!

CAN I DRIVE THE CAR HOME? The car drives good and everything I have checked is in good condition. but I do not recommend driving any old car home. Reason. I test drive them like a garage doing repair work would. I do not take long trips in them. so it worries me when people head out in a old car.

TRADES: Please no trades. they never work out and are just to hard!

Athens does have a good small airport. but has no commercial flights.

HOW TO GET THE CAR SHIPPED? I use a company named Nations Auto Transport. a good contact with them is Jim Page. he is located in the Kansas City area.

Jim Page: 816-295-6887     email:    jpage@shipnat. com

MY AREA CODE FOR TRANSPORT: The area code for Athens. Tennessee is 37303. I live 1 mile off a major interstate (I-75) and 35 miles south of interstate 40. span >  so transport is usually very fast.

Option 1: Pay the old school way face to face.

Option 2: Pay by check. I will wait till the check clears. I have had

                          a fake bank certified check.

Option 3: The safest and fastest is to let our banks handle it. my bank is a

member of the US Federal Reserve. this is called wire

                           transfer.

INSPECTIONS: Please come look and be happy. All inspections are required to be done before the end of the listing. I listed this car as I see it as a 64 year old car restorer. please come and judge it for your self. I judge the car to my standards. this may not be yours. Inspectors have to be very critical to cover their back sides. I understand how hard it is to buy a car without looking. but I think you should come look yourself.   I don't like paid inspectors. I like for the person that is buying to inspect for themselves. I think its fine to send a friend to inspect for you. To make it clear. don't hit the buy now button and then inspect. come inspect first!

BOTTOM LINE:    My price is $9. 00. I'm asking more on the local market. I can sell the car for this price. so all you traders please don't waste our time.

I'm old and know the car will sell for this price.

PLEASE!!!!!!   PLEASE!!!!! PLEASE!!!!! Come look at this vehicle.

Please don't hit the Buy Now button unless your ready to really buy it!

Do your research. call me with questions. read my feed backs. I am ebay verified; this means they say I'm a real person in a real place.

I WILL BE VERY HAPPY TO SELL YOU THE VEHICLE WITH-OUT AN INSPECTION; YOU JUST HAVE TO HAVE A LOT OF NERVE AND PLEASE DON'T BE A CRY BABY.
