The private collector who is offering this gorgeous Coral & White 1955 Oldsmobile 88 2 door hardtop for sale said he purchased the car about 20 years ago and it was mostly restored at that time.   However recently he has restored the interior. headliner and trunk with material that is comparable to what was in the car when new.   The seller of the car put new tires from Coker on the car.   We at MissChiTown think it would make a splash at the local car shows and the coral and white combination is very striking!

The seller said that the car runs very nice and has power steering and power brakes.   He believes that everything is in good working condition except the radio does not work.  We did not have the mileage at the time of listing so we posted 9999 – please check back as we will post the mileage.   The car will be available for pickup after Feb12. 2014. when the seller returns from vacation.

Built with an all-new longer-wheelbase X-member frame. a bigger. more powerful Rocket V-8 engine and new styling highlighted by GM's innovative wraparound windshield. the 1955 Oldsmobile 88 offered improved performance. engineering. craftsmanship and styling. The 1955 models were heavily face-lifted with new grille work. taillights and body-side chrome. Horsepower for the 324-cubic-inch Rocket V8 increased to 185 for 88s. Air conditioning became an option. The 88 had full instrumentation.

The 1954 Oldsmobiles were completely restyled with new longer and lower body shells and wrap-around windshields and rear windows. Wheelbases increased to 122 inches (3. 1 m). The Rocket V8 was enlarged from 303 to 324 cubic inches with 88s powered by a two-barrel. 170 horsepower.

You could look long and hard but you will probably never find one like this!
