1966 Mercedes Benz 230SL Pagoda - Stunning, Numbers Matching, European Spec

Offered for sale is an absolutely stunning. numbers matching. solid and correct 1966 Mercedes 230SL European model finished in perpetually attractive Dark Red (DB 542) over a Parchment interior. An extremely original example that has been cosmetically freshened as needed through the years. this W113 Pagoda is entirely honest. with a straight and accident free body. strong original engine and transmission and rust-free original undercarriage.

The dark red finish is in excellent condition. deep. lustrous. consistent and marred only by the most negligible of imperfections. none of which were significant enough to appear in any of the pictures. The chrome is in great shape. as are the glass and rubber. and the color matched hub-capped wheels with beauty rings are wrapped in tires with plenty of remaining tread. The car comes with both tops: the original color matched hardtop and complimentary light tan canvas soft top. both of which are in excellent condition.  

The car's interior is equally clean. the parchment seats and interior panels showing hardly any wear. the carpets recently replaced using the correct German square weave material and the crack-free dash housing the original Becker radio and fully functional gauges. The wood trim is in great condition. as are all of the original interior panels and the hard top's headliner.

The car is a joy mechanically. the original. numbers matching engine firing easily. idling consistently and pulling strongly and smoothly through each of the transmission's gears. The car's ride quality is superb. the suspension and brakes behaving as they should. and this car illustrates that the W113 is perhaps the first classic Mercedes that has the requisite power and ease of operation to qualify as daily driver. although this example has clearly been used merely as a fair weather weekend joy-rider.
