MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present a clean. handsome and desirable 1979 Porsche 911SC which has rolled into our showroom.

The Porsche 911 is the flagship of the current line-up of Porsche. It is a two-door grand tourer made by Porsche AG of Stuttgart. Germany. Since its introduction in 1963. it has undergone continuous development. though the basic concept has remained the same. Throughout its lifetime. the 911 has been modified by private teams and by the factory itself for racing. rallying and other forms of automotive competition. It is among the most successful competition cars ever.

In 1978. Porsche introduced the new version of the 911. called the 911SC. Porsche reintroduced the SC designation for the first time since the 356SC (as distinguished from the race engined 356 Carrera). There was no Carrera version of the 911SC. It featured a 3. 0-liter engine with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and a five-speed 915 transmission.

This fantastic Porsche 911SC is equipped with an optional turbo wing spoiler — or “whale tail” as some Porsche enthusiasts dub it — which was standard on Porsche 930s along with the vents. The exterior has been professionally repainted in the desirable Seal Gray. The bumpers are in good condition. and the newer wheels have benefitted from an upgrade. The usually correct wheels have been replaced with a later Porsche model's 17-inch five-spoke alloy wheels wrapped with tires measuring 205/55VR16 (front) and 225/50VR16 (rear). All are near new and near perfect with plenty of tread life left.

The interior is a great Saddle color that has recently been replaced and looks to be new. The gauges are all original. and the dashboard and instrument cluster are in excellent condition. An after-market Alpine stereo has been installed so you can crank your favorite tunes as you tour the open roads. Power windows and sunroof work with ease. and this car is also equipped with A/C.

This solid factory wide-bodied car went through a six-year restoration process. The body was sand blasted down to bare metal on a “rust free” body. The previous owner said that no rust repair has been needed. The transmission has a new Sachs high performance clutch installed which shifts smoothly through all five gears. A newly installed exhaust system and heat exchangers were done during the extensive restoration process. New rubber seals were also installed after the professional paint job. A full new interior with headliner and carpet kit from Porsche brings the fantastic restoration together.
