1957 Chevrolet Factory Limo Limousine GM

 Up for grabs is this Extremely Rarest of All '57 Chevys ever built at GM. There are only a hand full of these Factory Built Limo's ever sold to the public. Exact number not known to me. however it was less than 20. I have only seen one other in the fifty years that I have been driving. I was told by the original owners son that this was one of a handful built at the St. Louis plant by GM. Others where commissioned to be built by Stageway-Ambruster. a custom coach builder for GM Specialty cars. I have no Documentation on weather GM or S/A built this one. however it is for sure factory built.

This jewel will need total restoration including floor pans. It has sat in a barn since 1970. It has all the chrome and stainless in tact including all the factory Limo chrome. It has all the original factory seats and interior trim and all the glass is intact except the drivers door glass has a crack. Extra door comes with the sale. All other glass is good. It came from the factory with a 283 V8. Automatic trans. PS & PB.

If you are a 57 Chevy guy. a GM guy or a car guy. then you know how extremely rare and valuable this car is. and that it will be priceless when restored. Therefore I am putting this car up for grabs (as John Milner would say) with a No Reserve auction. with an extremely reasonable Buy It Now so everybody can afford to Buy It Now.

An elderly gentleman that use to work at GM and was very knowledgeable of the 57 Chevy Limos called me recently to inform me about these cars. He said that they built 5 Limos at the GM  St. Louis plant. One Larkspur blue. one tropical turquoise. one Sierra gold and two onyx black. These were all Bel Airs. V8 with PS. B. automatic transmission. The rest were all commissioned by GM to be built at Stageway-Ambruster and that they built 197 total. most built there were 8 door airport limos. He is going to send me the info he has on these cars and I will include it with the car. He said that he was certain that this one was the Larkspur blue one built at GM plant in St. Louis.   I have not yet received any documentation from him as of today. therefore make your bid based on no documentation. if I receive it . I will post it.
