Description

1934 Ford Coupe Convertible

The great thing about the evolution of hot rodding is: over the past 30 years a vast array of excellent products has continually streamed onto the market. And presently, anyone with a checkbook and an affinity for going way too fast and looking way too good can build anything from state-of-the-art avant-garde to old school cool.

This sweet Ford coupe, wrapping a modern chassis and reliable V8 in show stopping aesthetics, is a ground-up build that combines the core strengths of original hot rodding with an uncompromising vision and top-notch componentry. And, if you're looking to score a fully sorted custom that mixes classic good looks with proven road manners, it's a strong candidate for your next street rod!

Exterior
A 34 3-window Factory 5 fiberglass body covers a Factory 5 frame. It is bathed in beautiful metallic bronze and has a nifty shield style front vertical ribbed grille. This is flanked by 2 single headlights which have been custom made to fit the proportion of the car. Now fender-less, bumper-less, and a hardtop that is slightly chopped and also removable, the fiberglass is all in excellent condition. Beautifully curvaceous lines for this body and sporty 17 inch from and big 20-inch rear American Racing Torque Thrust Special Edition wheels are wrapped by all season radials. Take a bow and grab the gold medal for this bronze painted rodder.

Interior
Within a fiberglass bronze frame the door panels have some padded tuck and roll vinyl and a single armrest. Very stylish oval door actuators are in the sill area. Moving inside 2 broadcloth buckets courtesy of a Mazda Miata in charcoal gray are between the doors. An undulating fiberglass painted bronze dash is fronted by an Ididit tilt steering column topped by a modern banjo styled rally steering wheel. A horizontal lineup of black bezel white faced circular gauges graces the center of the dash, along with the ignition and a few buttons. Charcoal gray carpeting showing some wear covers the floors and goes into the toe kick areas.

Drivetrain
Shoehorned in the engine bay under the front flipping faux cowled hood is now a 302ci V8 with Ford Racing badged valve coverings. There is a 4-barrel carburetor strapped to the top and a T5 5-speed manual transmission on back which throws power rearward to a Ford 8.8 inch pumpkin. Headers and stainless-steel mufflers aid in the evacuation of spent fossils and air.

Undercarriage
The gray powder coated Factory 5 frame is very structurally sound. At either end of the rear axle are Ford brakes. A 4 link with coil over shocks, (QA1 shocks and springs), are on the back and upfront is independent coil springs, (QA1). Power disc brakes are on all 4 corners and all its looking just great underneath.

Drive-Ability
This 302 cuber fired right up and off to the test track where skating on American Racing Torque Thrust wheels and All season radials is not an everyday occurrence in a hot rod. It has nice smooth acceleration, good handling and a smooth ride. All functions were working just great and it's a head turner. We had the whole town beeping at us! Note that the top can be removed for the convertible experience.

Factory 5 fiberglass, and a newer 302ci V8, modern interior and chopped top, this bronze beauty is meant to be driven, unlike those baby shoes you have on your dresser! And now stand for the presentation of the medals and our national anthem!
