This clean grocery getter Bel Air has some serious performance upgrades. The motor is built, has upgraded trans and rear. Suspension is custom, disc brakes at all four wheels and the exhaust is made by hand. It is a runner!

EXTERIOR: Claimed to be all original body panels. It is straight as an arrow, the body gaps are precise. Everything fits square and flush, you can close the doors with your pinky. Repainted only one time back to it's original color. The metal flake is laid out nicely, it has a glossy clear coat finish. There's a couple minor imperfections if you look for them. Overall the grill, trim, moldings, bumpers, bow tie mirrors are good. The stainless trim around the windows is polished. Custom bowtie taillights. Door jambs are real nice, actually I think they are original paint. The weather strips and window seals were replaced. New 15 inch steel rims from Wheel Vintiques painted body color with poverty caps and Good Year tires.

INTERIOR: Seats have been reupholstered in the correct materials. The door panels look new, headliner and visors look new. Dash area is original. A retro stereo was put in the factory hole. It also has a vintage style tachometer on the column and a gauge cluster below the dash. New carpet with matching floor mats. That is a 5-speed shifter sticking out of the floor with a Jeg's handle.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Motor was professionally rebuilt by FX engines and has less than 1,000 miles. It's a genuine 409 stroked to 454. It has a roller cam, Edelbrock aluminum heads, aluminum intake and two 4 barrel Edelbrock carbs with electric choke. They used premium fuel lines and fittings and a chrome fuel pump. It has an MSD ignition system. Finned aluminum tall valve covers and an oval finned aluminum air cleaner really set it off. It has a set of headers. It runs cool with a big polished aluminum radiator, dual electric fans, aluminum water pump and an overflow bottle. The power steering pump is chrome, steering box is new, it has braided hoses. Upgraded dual reservoir master. It has chrome alternator and oil filler, premium dipstick tube, the battery is bolted down properly, it has both horns, hinges look new.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Clean trunk with gray and white spatter finish paint. It has a space saver spare and a jack. It has a 2nd battery located in the trunk with a billet hold down. A car cover is included.

UNDERSIDE: The front end has been completely updated with fat tubular Global West control arms and QA-1 adjustable coil over gas shocks. All new steering components, spindles, balljoint, bushings etc. Rear suspension is also upgraded with adjustable upper control arms and frame supports, fat tubular control arms, new springs, adjustable QA-1 gas shocks and panhard bar. The exhaust is neatly bent along the X-frame, it has MagnaFlow resonators and the Flowmaster mufflers are tucked up in the rear quarters. Upgraded brake system has Wilwood discs at all 4 wheels, stainless braided hoses, new brake lines and the e-brake assembly is hooked up. Looking up at the motor it's still exceptionally clean, it has a high torque starter. Upgraded Tremec 5-speed trans and a rebuilt drive shaft. New Strange 9 inch rear end with 3.73 posi gears.

We acquired this car from a "409 guy". He also races one. The car is done right, drive it anywhere!

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.

About Volo Auto Museum

No other collector car dealer has been in business longer than the Volo Auto Museum.  Owned and operated by the Grams family since 1960.  We are the only collector car dealer that has 4 generations of experience with buying, selling and consigning classic autos.  For our family, classic cars are more than a business, it is a passion.  Over the decades, we have maintained a reputation for dealing with integrity as proven with our high reviews and A+ rating with the BBB.

Buying a classic car can be exciting, but also stressful.  We want to take the stress out of your buying experience by allowing you the time and tools you need to get to know the car you are interested in before making your investment, not after.  Unlike auctions, we allow test drives, 3rd party inspections, the use of our shop and car lift.  No reasonable request will be turned down.

Selling a car can be equally stressful, but it doesn't have to be.  After reviewing your quality collector car, we will discuss the options we have available to you and let you decide what works best for you.  We have cash available for immediate sales and we also offer a consignment program that surpasses anyone else's.   Unlike percentage based programs with fees; we work with a no fee, net to owner.  This allows us the opportunity to treat and market your car as if it were our own.  We invest approximately $1500 of our own money into marketing your car, which means if it doesn't sell, we lose, not you.  So, we are more aggressive in selling your car!
