Available and up for your consideration at JLD Auto Group is this incredible custom 1934 Ford 3-Window! It may hold a figurehead title of 'Ford 3-Window,' but this is no ordinary classic Ford. This hot rod is an entirely custom build, and is referred to be a cross between a Jaguar, street rod, and an Indy car. With an investment of over $250,000 and over 7,000 man hours, the level of sophistication in build quality as originally intended by the original builder of the car--the late and highly respected Ben Diener of Dienerbilt Corp.--becomes easy to see upon understanding more details about the vehicle as outlined below.

Starting with the exterior, the vehicle embodies a 1934 Ford 3-Window body, but with extensive modification. The body was chopped by 3.5", widened by 4", sectioned by 3.5", and further channeled by 4", and eventually painted to wear its current 'Harbor Red' urethane paint exterior. 17" Budnik real knockoff wheels provide a flashy chrome contrast to the red body, while 1967 Pontiac Firebird taillights provide tail-lighting without distracting from the style and shape of the car.

Mechanically, this build becomes even more intriguing. A 326ci 1982 Jaguar V12 engine rests in the engine bay, providing 320hp to a Borg Warner T-65 transmission with a 2200rpm stall speed. From there, power travels via a custom-engineered drive shaft to a limited slip rear differential, while exhaust is routed out the back of the car via a quad exhaust system. Custom touches extend past the drivetrain, with an electric ignition-actuated electric license plate that extends itself below the rear overhang of the car to be visible while driving. In the engine bay, customization continues with custom-machined pulleys, a machined-from-billet 14-quart oil pan, and externally-mounted air filters. As for the vehicle's suspension, a stunning custom independent suspension setup is in place, starting with handcrafted suspension arms and continuing with Koni coil-overs and chrome springs, as well as custom-made wishbones and radius rods. Finally, inboard Jaguar disk brakes provide ample stopping power for the custom Ford.

A GM rack-and-pinion steering system--along with a tilt steering column--brings us into the interior, where sound and heat insulation provides for a cooler, quieter cabin. The dashboard is composed of polished billet aluminum, surrounding the theme-fitting Jaguar gauges. Recaro seats provide a firm yet comfortable seating environment, and almond-colored leather and wool compose the majority of soft surfaces within the interior. The same color and materials schemes continue into the trunk, where the trunk lid--like the license plate--is electrically powered. Lastly, modern comforts are not sacrificed, as air conditioning, power steering, power seats, power windows, and power brakes are all present within the car.

Thus, it is now easier to see that this 1934 Ford is no ordinary hot rod. With an incredible amount of customization, this vehicle has subsequently been featured in many magazines, and carries forward an impressive resume as a driveable, enjoyable custom car. With Mr. Diener having completed several road trips for leisure and car shows alike in this vehicle, it rightfully deserves to return to a prideful owner's garage.
