1958 Cadillac Fleetwood Sixty Special

You're looking at an extremely well-preserved and highly optioned 1958 Cadillac Fleetwood Sixty Special.  The story goes that the original owner purchased this car from the floor of the Chicago Auto Show in 1958. Was there a light colored 1958 Fleetwood with Sabres on the floor of the show? Yes. Can I verify that it was this car? No, but I can say that this is an amazingly well-sorted daily-driven car that turns heads wherever it goes. I've done my best to represent the car in the below sections (and in pictures), but don't hesitate in calling/texting if you need additional info or pictures: 512.653.0773

Mechanical

This car runs and drives extremely well, even by today's standards. The engine and drivetrain are quiet and smooth with everything in place exactly as it was when it left the factory. The factory tri-power is complete (no missing pieces nor modifications) and newly rebuilt with premium kits from Daytona Parts Company. Though the original air suspension was removed in the '70s (converted to springs with factory 1958 Cadillac parts), the air lines and compressor were left intact. The brake system is completely rebuilt -- new wheel cylinders, brake shoes, turned drums, rebuilt treadle-vac master cylinder -- and functions flawlessly; the car stops straight and with ease. Recent maintenance includes serviced front wheel bearings (with new grease seals), new coolant hoses (including  heater hoses), new alternator with proper wiring for the GEN light, new tires (B.F. Goodrich Silvertowns), new shock absorbers, new exhaust system (all the way back), new fuel pump, new valve cover gaskets, NOS vacuum wiper motor (wipers work perfectly), new wiper blades, new motor mounts, engine and transmission fluid changes, and a new fuel tank + sending unit. Cruises just as easily in stop and go traffic (stays cool) as it does on the highway with no vibrations or weird noises.

Exterior

At 64 years old, this car has aged better than most any vehicle of the era that I've ever seen (at least, of those vehicles that are actually driven). The factory alpine white paint is largely original and though it has a couple thin spots and many nicks and scratches (see pictures), it really does look as good as it does in the pictures.  (Note: If you're looking for a perfectly shiny, flaw-free exterior, this is not the car for you; this is an original preservation car. Bumpers are in excellent condition and other chrome and stainless shows well for being original. The five original sabre wheels are all in excellent shape.

Interior

The 100% original interior is freshly professionally cleaned and has faired extremely well, with only some light fading of the dye on the leather of the front bench seat back (no rips/tears anywhere). Both seats are still soft and comfortable, and the optional six-way power front bench works exactly as it should. Headliner is 100% intact and looks great with no stains, sags, or signs of any wear. Carpet is great shape and the floor mats are near perfect. The steering wheel is one of the nicest examples I've seen -- not a crack nor a separation to be found. Dash pad is perfect with no warping or cracking, and door panels are in excellent shape with almost zero wear. Radio, power antenna, dash lights, all gauges, and the horn work. The only things that do not work are the clock and the driver's side power vent window (motor runs but the gear is stripped). Power windows are quick and match up perfectly with no gaps. The only flaw in any of the glass is a crack in the driver's side vent window.
