I purchased this 1968 Mustang Restomod Pro Touring from Volo Auto Museum last year. It was originally built for a pro athlete that had a passion for late 60's Mustangs. He spared no expense in its creation. In talking to him, I learned he had a 68 in high school and always said he would have one that was nicely restored someday and this is that vehicle. He said he stopped keeping track of the cost at around $160,000, but he wouldn't admit it to many people, but he likely had over $200,000 in the car when he sold it a few years ago to a basketball player. The car was completely restored by a high end West Coast shop with all high end components in 2008/2009 and then had a completely modern suspension setup installed around 2015. He also had Dynamat installed throughout the car to give it more insulation from road noise and to allow the high end stereo system to shine through when cruising, The engine and transmission were both rebuilt in 2008 also. Sadly, he only put around 1000 miles on the car since it was restored. It now has just over 1400 miles, of which I contributed 200 miles. The car runs well and turns heads everywhere it goes, with lots of people with their tongues hanging out of their mouths as you drive by, It is not a car for someone wanting to go unnoticed. When I got the car, I found it was leaking coolant from the timing cover. Likely from sitting for so long with little use. I had 5 star rated local shop that specializes in hand building engines dial the car in. That included replacing the timing cover and water pump gaskets, as well as installing a Comp Cam 260h mild cam in it to give it a more muscular sound without rattling the car to pieces. They also replaced the fuel regulator that had a small leak, the harmonic balancer, and gave the car a tune up to ensure it was fully turn key.  I then had the car detailed and installed a long lasting coating on the vehicle to protect the extremely reflective paint as you can see in the pictures. You can see in the photo gallery some of the many receipts, the professional appraisal from 2019, and pictures of the build from start to finish. Unfortunately, those actual photos and documents were not included with the car when I bought it, but I have photos of them from the original person who had the car built. I have owned more than I care to admit number of modern day muscle cars. This was my first real classic car that I have purchased though. It is a beautiful work of art car that drives a lot like a modern day muscle car with a great drivetrain, but I have decided I am more of a modern car enthusiast and have another car on order that I need to make room for in the garage. Clear Ohio title is ready to go. Please check out my 100% positive eBay feedback and purchase with confidence. I have successfully sold my personal muscle cars to several people around the globe over the years, The feedback speaks to that. Car is priced to sell for several thousand dollars below what I have in the car. No trades or lowball offers, please. The selling dealer has offered to buy the car back at a favorable price if I can't sell it here or on Bring a Trailer.
