1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS396 for sale
Current customer rating: (51 votes ) based onBODY OVERVIEW: The body is clean and straight, showing that this car has been cared for since the restoration. The body lines are crisp and sharp, and this Camaro is bound to turn some heads! Besides, how can you top that classic 1969 Camaro styling?
PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW: When it was restored, this Camaro received a beautiful, high-quality repaint in its original Fathom Green color. This is no low-budget respray! The white stripes add a look that really accents the dark green paint. Kept aesthetically true to original form, the only major cosmetic change is the addition of the 427 fender badges to match the engine under the hood.
INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: Step inside this Camaro and it feels like 1969! Originally a Midnight Green interior car, when it was restored, the respectable choice was made to change it to black interior. The interior is nice original-style condition, with a combination of new and good condition original parts. The black vinyl seating is in excellent condition, and the perfect match for the green exterior color. The only major notable interior changes are the addition of an AM/FM cassette deck and an aftermarket under-dash water/voltage/oil pressure gauge pack.
MECHANICAL OVERVIEW: Under the hood is a very healthy 427 Chevrolet big block V8. According to the suffix code, this engine was originally installed in a 1969 390HP Corvette. For those of you who may want to know, this block wears the sought after "512" casting. The 427 sounds mean through dual exhaust, and the 4-speed transmission really puts you in touch with the road. This Camaro fires right up for us every time, and is a blast to drive. Power front disc brakes ensure that this car handles well without sacrificing any of that nostalgic feel!
WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR: This Camaro has the right look and is a true American icon. The Fathom Green paint, factory road wheels, and white stripes perpetuate the iconic and unique Camaro look. Combine that with the sound that only a big block Chevy can create, and what's not to love?
WHAT YOU MIGHT HATE ABOUT THIS CAR: Besides a few small items that are not working on the car, we didn't find anything that would make us hate this F-body.
DOES IT NEED ANYTHING? There are a few small items that are not currently functional, but typical of an older restoration. These items include reverse lights, radio, speedometer, and odometer.
WHAT BUYER IS LOOKING FOR THIS CAR? Anyone looking for an eye-catching, big block, classic American icon should consider this green beauty!
