1955 Chevrolet 210 2-Door Sedan

There's a dependable way to identify a pro street build from a distance: the massive drag slicks hanging off the car's rear. Enormous balloon tires and a giant blower often define the appearances of these cars and having that sort of rubber on the rear axle means the focus will be on straight-line performance. With skinny tires up front and often tubed frames, the pro street build is a machine that tries to excel in one specific department. There's not a huge amount of difference between a pro street car and a dedicated dragster, aside from license plates and a certain amount of civility. Some people like to build their pro street cars with modest compression and roller camshafts to run comfortably on pump gas. Since straight-line speed is usually the main objective, automatic transmissions are far more popular, but lots of the interior is retained for a little more comfort on the way to the strip. For some, the goal of a pro street machine is to be able to drive to the drag strip, run some competitive times, and bring it home without worrying too much or cursing the machinery. Thx to Racingjunk.comWhere do you search when you want not only the classic lines and styling of a Tri-Five era Chevrolet but also the performance of a straight line drag car that can be driven on the street? Simple, the hallowed halls of the Classic Auto Mall. For consignment and your viewing pleasure, a 1955 Chevrolet 210 2 door sedan that has all its original lines, trim pieces, a high horsepower small block V8, and an eye-catching blue and pearl white paint job with ghost scallops. All buttoned up and waiting for you, the first year Tri-Five Chevy never looked so good

ExteriorMaintaining much of the mild mannered 210 exterior look as to original styling, this car has taken on another personality when it comes to color. Emblazoned with both pearl blue and pearl white, light blue ghost scallops over the nose, plenty of bling in the form of brite work, and well minded gaps one can't help but ogle at it and feel warm and fuzzy inside. Our consignor states that lots of body panels were installed and they look just fab. The appearance of body filler is noted on the lower panels, especially the rockers. All the factory body styling has been retained and aside from the humongous rear tires one could easily mistake this car for a mild hotrod from the front view. Weld Racing Draglite wheels adorn all 4 corners with 205/60R15 rubber in the front and massive 31x18.50-15 rubber in the rear.

InteriorBlack tuck and roll vinyl has been installed over the original seat frame and is looking just splendid in split bench form. The rear seat follows suit sprawling from panel to panel but is nearly inaccessible due to the installed roll bar (I tried to fit my slightly portly figure back there and had to call for a rigging service to help remove me. Your results may vary). Fronting these beautiful couches is the dual fan design dash, complete with the speedometer on the driver's side and a badged fan on the passenger side with Chevrolet in your grandmother's script. The dash front is white metal and has a band of polished aluminum that is made up of a rectangular ribbed pattern. An aftermarket AM/FM/Cassette player is mounted in this panel for your listening pleasure. A Lecarra steering wheel with a black leather wrapped rim mounted on the factory column which has a Sun Super Tach II tachometer attached. Aftermarket gauges hang from below the dash, and black carpet floods the floors with protective mats giving you a warning of "Get In, Sit Down, Shut Up, And Hold On" upholstered into them. The door panels match the seats in both color and design and have had a Pioneer speaker installed, meanwhile a black headliner hangs above and has some blotchiness and wrinkling.

DrivetrainSitting in a pristine, clean and all blue engine bay is a 406ci small block Chevrolet V8. This has been bored .030 contains SpeedPro pistons and a Comp cam with .518 lift and 292 duration. This presents nicely with its reddish orange painted block, Edelbrock aluminum intake and Holley 650cfm carb to feed it. A nice chrome air cleaner and valve covers add some bling to either side, and a TH350 3-speed transmission with a 2800 stall converter is strapped to the rear of the snazzy mill. Way back at is a narrowed Ford 9" axle with 3.89 gears and 31 spline axles.

UndercarriagePlenty of rustproofing spray covers the frame and floor, some has chipped off and reveals only minor surface rust. All components are solid, and we note the addition of an aftermarket rear frame to accept the big rear meats. Independent coil spring front suspension is noted as are ladder bars with coil overs for the rear. Power disc brakes are now on the front and work with power drums on the rear. Flowtech headers feed spent fossils through stainless steel mufflers and out into the atmosphere in front of the rear tires.

Drive-AbilityThis car fires right up and shifts smoothly. It has nice power, handles as well as it can in the corners, and provides a beautiful ride. The snappy interior is comfortable, and we did notice that the heater cable needs to be replaced, but there is a heater valve installed under hood and both rear windows need 2 plastic pivot and roller guide assemblies.

An all buttoned up and ready to terrorize both the show field and the drag strip. A nice driver, great color combo, lots of chrome trim looking good, and ready for any challenger at the stop light drags!
