SELLER REMARKS

Please make a note. this is how you build a great Mustang resto-mod. Built with OEM components. it now packs a fuel injected 5. 0. a 5-speed gearbox. and that classic fastback look that makes it one of the slickest cars of the '60s. With just a few thousand miles on the build. it's everything you ever wanted from your next vintage Mustang.

It's probably also safe to call this one a legitimate sleeper. Sure. any Mustang 2+2 has a reputation. but the icy blue paint on this one is certainly low-key enough to keep it from falling into the "obvious" category. Most guys would have dressed it up with Shelby stripes. but instead this one was transformed into a handsome grand tourer that gets its appreciative glances the old-fashioned way: it earns them with great gaps and a shiny paint job. Fit and finish are good. although it has seen some use since it was completed a few years ago. but that only means is was sorted so well the builder couldn't resist. There are '289' badges on the front fenders. since this was originally a C-code car. and all the chrome has been shined up to look brilliant against the light blue paint. It's also kind of cool that this one hasn't been treated to a GT makeover. so it keeps everything nice and simple. but it's ready to pounce with that late-model drivetrain.

The blue interior is every bit as nice as the exterior and continues the sophisticated theme. Seat covers. carpets. and door panels were replaced when the car was restored and still look great today. The back seat folds down to make a vast carpeted cargo bay that'll carry tires. spares. and a ton of groceries. making this Mustang one of the more practical hobby cars you can own. The factory center console houses a Hurst shifter with cue ball knob. but it's now linked to a T5 5-speed instead of the original 4-speed gearbox. The gauges are original and keep an eye on the revitalized fuel-injected powerplant. and again. keeping with the low-profile theme.

The real story is the fuel injected 5. 0 V8 under the hood. Borrowed from a 1993 Cobra. it fits perfectly between the vintage Mustang's shock towers thanks to the longevity of the small block Windsor motor. The conversion is a popular one. but that doesn't make it easy. but it's nice to see that they went the extra mile to get everything working properly. It starts instantly as all fuel injected cars do. it idles perfectly regardless of the weather. and there's torque and horsepower everywhere on the tach. As many OEM parts as possible were used in the build for reliability purposes. and despite the 5. 0 being so modification-friendly. this one is pretty stock aside from a set of headers and a new Flowmaster exhaust system. The floors are so clean and shiny that I have to assume they're new. and the 9-inch rear has been properly detailed with a red oxide center section. Classic Torque Thrust wheels with staggered 15-inch radials fill the wheel wells and give it a great stance.

This is a no-compromises vintage cruiser that runs like a modern car and looks like a classic Mustang. What could be better? Call today!
