"The Chevy II and Nova finally got a handsome redesign in 1966...." – Hagerty

The Hagerty people went on to summarize the "new-look '66 Nova: "A full-length body line divided the side, the front fenders were now hooded over single headlights, a simple horizontal-barred anodized aluminum grille divided the headlights, and the taillights were now set vertically in crisply squared-off rear fenders."

Very popular at the time, these appealing details in the re-design helped ensure the '66 Chevy Nova would remain a favorite with the bowtie crowd for decades to come. This car is proof.

Offered here is a 1966 Chevy Nova, fully and professionally customized with a host of cosmetic and mechanical upgrades throughout, all achieved without diminishing the model's inherent classic appeal. The stunning Impulse-Blue-over-blue-and-white Nova has traveled just 507 miles since all the work was completed. Attention to detail, the use of premium parts-suppliers, and a perfectly matched powertrain all came together in this satisfying build. This is clearly a one-of-one Nova in show-ready condition.

The almost iridescent Impulse Blue exterior paint was applied perfectly; the shine is evenly glossy and completely free of imperfections. Body-panel alignment is similarly outstanding, and all panels are free of even the slightest imperfection. The smooth lines of the hardtop, the sloping roof, and smooth flanks of the car-all part of the Nova's original appeal-remain and were never more attractive than in this beautiful shade of blue. The addition of a cowl-induction hood (with restrained white striping) provides a clue to the power beneath. (The "LSX" fender badges, side-exit exhaust, and the elevated rear stance tell a good deal more of that story.) Homage to the Chevrolet design is evident in the lack of alteration to the front and rear bumpers, headlight trim, trunk-lid trim (with "Chevy II" identification), "SS" and "Super Sport" (script) badging, window trim, and exterior (Chevrolet-branded) drivers-side mirror. The front blackout grille is a simplification that adds to the overall look. Every chrome-finished surface is free of wear, abrasion, or patina. Period-correct, 5-spoke chrome, 17-inch wheels provide a glimpse of the Willwood® calipers and ventilated brake rotors (drilled in front). Blackwall premium performance tires are mounted.

The Nova's interior is a joyful statement in blue and white. The combination of those two colors with sweeping, curved-design inserts on the seat upholstery and elsewhere is as beguiling as it is beautifully rendered. The center console travels the full length of the interior incorporating (front to back): audio controls, the shifter for the Tremec® TKO 600 5-speed manual transmission, twin cupholders, storage compartment, and beautifully rendered rear speaker grille. The illuminated, x-design, blue-on-white headliner is a pure delight. Door trim brings together body-color paint and white leather inserts in a design complementary to the upholstery. Matching blue carpet covering the cabin floors has been expertly installed. A bowtie-branded, chrome steering wheel-echoing the exterior wheel design-frames a substantially re-imagined dashboard, including a complete array of Cobalt® instruments on brushed-metal trim, Alpine® audio head unit, and VintageAir® air-conditioning vents and controls. Blue lighting enhances every component.

The Nova's trunk has been completely re-executed with white-leather-covered walls surrounding audio speakers, and blue carpeting (with white leather inserts) on the floor.

Under the cowl-induction hood, the brand-new LSX®, 5.7-liter, long-block V8 (sourced from General Motors Performance Parts overstock from 2004 GTOs) absolutely sparkles under its chrome, open-top air cleaner, induction system, and mirror-finish valve covers. All components-including the BeCool® aluminum radiator and Edelbrock® timing control unit-are in place and properly mounted. Viewed from below, the chassis is spotlessly clean, straight, and free of rust. Focal points include the racing-style exhaust headers, frame reinforcements, custom suspension geometry, rack-and-pinion steering components, three-quarter-length dual exhausts, and Ford 9-inch rear end with Positraction.

The Nova's original build tag remains mounted.

While the more than 175 high-definition photographs and the short walk-around-and-startup video available on the GarageKeptMotors website showcase this exceptional '66 Nova in detail from every angle, including from below, we expect and encourage in-person inspections at our Grand Rapids, Michigan showroom. Please call to arrange an appointment in advance as our showroom is not open to the public. And feel free to get in touch anytime by phone or email if you have questions.

This show-stopping Nova will do just that, stop the show. Day or night. Whether it's a few folks gathered in a driveway to marvel at the car, or a team of judges pouring over it at a weekend show, this beautiful custom Chevy will inspire compliments and honors aplenty. In any environment, it will always be noticed and admired.

About Garage Kept Motors

Garage Kept Motors, LLC specializes in classic and specialty online auto sales.

For our consignors, we are the only auto brokers that offer a Transparent Sale Disclosure. This means, when a car sells, we provide an exact copy of the Bill of Sale. We do this so our clients know exactly who bought their car, where it went, and most importantly how much we sold it for. No funny business.

For our buyers, our vehicles are listed on the Internet, with over 100 photos, including undercarriage pictures, and walk-around videos of the vehicles running plus a narrative-style write-up of the cars history and features. Our international exposure allows us to sell cars across the globe, and we sell a majority of them out of state and overseas. We deliver honesty and consistency in our photos and descriptions, a “no surprise” approach, so buyers, both near and far, can invest with confidence sight unseen. We are not a gallery. Vehicles can be seen locally by appointment as potential buyers are given our undivided attention.
