FULL FRAME-OFF MECHANCIAL AND COSMETIC RESTORATION TO ORIGINAL CONDITION! WIRE SPOKE WHEELS WITH WIDE WHITEWALL TIRES! RARE TRUCK TO FIND IN THIS CONDITION! FANTASTIC DRIVER! SPECIFICATIONS Year 1934 Make Chevrolet Model DB Master Closed Cab 1/2 Ton Pickup VIN 2DB0818816 Mileage Exempt Engine 206ci Cylinders Inline 6 Transmission 3 speed manual Title Clear Color Dark Blue Interior Color Black DESCRIPTION The first pickup truck. historians argue. was Gottleib Daimler's 1896 creation. dubbed “vehicle no. 6”. While it was certainly a one-off. by the early 1910s. handymen all over the US were taking car chassis and mounting hand-fabricated boxes made of steel and wood on the back to get the most out of their vehicles. These early custom trucks were used in a lot of private hands (farming and delivery). as well as commercial (auto plant parts moving and businessmen). As early as 1918. Chevrolet recognized the potential of this market and sold traditional automobiles with no rear bodywork; their intention was for the buyer to find a proper bed and convert the truck in his or her garage. Ford was the first to offer a factory-built pickup truck on the Model T chassis in April of 1925. They followed with the new for 1928 four-cylinder Model A pickup and Chevrolet. fresh off the purchase of Martin-Parry body company. was able to introduce their alternative in 1931. The Independence Series debuted with the “Stovebolt” Inline 6. adding two additional cylinders and an increase in power over the Ford. This overhead-valve motor became known as the “Cast Iron Wonder” and went on to power many more Chevrolet vehicles throughout the 1930s. In 1934. the DB Master Half Ton commercial pickup was introduced. Introduced with a heavier and stronger frame than its passenger-biased counterparts. the DB was available in four different body styles including canopy. panel. sedan delivery and pickup. The 112-inch wheelbase truck was the first to be entirely developed with no interchangeability with any Chevy passenger cars.

We are thrilled to offer this 1934 Chevrolet DB Master Closed Cab Pickup. The Body is finished in a stunning Dark Blue with Red pinstriping. and is complemented by Black fenders and White wall tires. To accent the paint are chrome bumpers. saucer hubcaps. fuel cap. radiator cap and headlight bezels. Additionally. you'll see a passenger side-mount spare. dual rear Chevlite lights. a side-view mirror and a windshield wiper hiding under a visor. Under the hood. you'll find the original Inline 6 and a trick Hollywood Wolf Whistle. The truck glides gracefully down the road on matching wire wheels with Lester 4-ply white wall tires. The interior is everything you'd expect from a pickup truck from 1934…pure simplicity. The Seats are beautifully refinished in Black Vinyl. a matching rubber mat covers the floor. and fender color accents on the dash and doors finish interior. With the exception of full instrumentation (fuel level. oil pressure. amps and water temperature). the cabin is Spartan. There is a little storage orifice behind the driver's left shoulder. The front windshield folds out. and along with the manual side windows make for excellent ventilation on warm days.

As record has it. our DB Master was built in Tarrytown. New York and equipped with its original engine and transmission. The engine cast date is April 12. 1934. suggesting that this truck was likely completed halfway through the 1934 model year. The truck was likely kept indoors throughout its life and was as good a candidate for a restoration as you can find. The truck shows as a very straight and authentic example that would be equally at home on a farm as it would be driving to shows! We invite questions or calls to arrange a personal inspection of this fine automobile. We look forward to working with you!
