Very Rare 1959 Cadillac Fleetwood Survivor
Up for auction is a 1959 Cadillac Series 75 Fleetwood factory 9-passenger limousine. What is believed to be a numbers matching
survivor. this iconic automobile makes an imposing statement in terms of its size as well as its art deco jet era lines. If you are into big fins and driving something that is sure to turn heads in a way that no other vehicle can match. this is your car!
It is one of the very rare factory limousines that were produced. It has factory air. the body is straight and the motor runs strong. It looks to be an all-original car with its factory applied “London Gray” paint that still gleams. The car has been well cared for. is in excellent condition. nbsp;runs and drives with no issues and has just gone through a stem to stern mechanical refresh. including brand new whitewall tires.
As Wikipedia says. no single automotive design better characterizes the industry's late 1950s flamboyance than the 1959 Cadillac which incorporated totally new styling. Large tail fins. twin bullet tail lamps. new jewel-like grille patterns and matching deck-lid beauty panels personified these cars. The long-wheelbase Series 75 technically became the 6700. in keeping with Cadillac's new series scheme. but in practice was still referred to as the "Series 75". The production model nine-passenger sedan was perhaps the rarest and most imposing of them all. The Fleetwood logo lettering appeared on the rear deck lid; trim strip and single side trim moldings extended from the front wheel housing to the rear of the car. Standard equipment included power brakes; power steering; Hydramatic Automatic transmission; dual back-up lamps; windshield washers and two-speed wipers; wheel discs; dual outside rearview mirror; vanity mirror; oil filter and power vent windows. Power steering and shock absorbers were improved for the 1959 model year. The engine displacement on the Cadillac OHV V8 engine was increased to 390 cu and put out more power than any preceding Cadillac motor.
