1987 Porsche 944 S. This is a carefully kept Beverly Hills Porsche. I bought it in 1993 from Steve Taub Porsche in Santa Monica. BACKGROUND: Porsche gave the 944 a 2.5L inline-4 motor which is mated to a manual 5-speed transmission. The "S" model gave you an extra 40HP and some cosmetic upgrades. Power is delivered confidently to the rear wheels thus making for effortless yet thrilling acceleration. On the 4th of July 1999 I was rear-ended by a very nice elder lady. The insurance valued the car at that time at the same cost of repair so they totaled the car. I bought it back and had it repaired. There was no damage to the integrity of the car -just expensive Porsche parts. The car has had a major engine tune-up in 2019 and is maintained (for past fifteen years) by a great mechanic who I can put interested buyers in touch with if they have specific questions for him. DESCRIPTION: The exterior is an awesome Ferrari red. It was originally burgundy, but in 2018 I decided to have it repainted and as I had always wanted a red Porsche I had the car fully resprayed by Calitornia West Coast Paint and Body. They did an amazing job, and it turns heads wherever I go in this car now. The interior is Tan leather with tan carpeting. The interior is in excellent condition, though the drivers seat has some leather damage and needs several panels repaired. I was told at Beverly Hills Porsche that there is a person they use who does great work on these seats without having to have a full seat repair. The engine is perfect. The car is stock, both inside and out. Blaupunkt radio, power windows, a sunroof, and leather seats. Porsche built the 944 from 1982 to 1991 with total production of just over 113,000 cars in total worldwide. One of the best parts of these cars is the fact that they are almost perfectly balanced front to rear, which makes them a favorite for racing and track events.
