1971 Ford Mustang Boss 351. Here's the history I was given. Two brother's each had a Boss 351. One wrecked his, so they pulled the engine out of it and purchased slightly lower compression forged pistons. 11:1 as opposed to the 11.7 so they could use pump gas and then fitted those to the wrecked cars block. They pulled the engine out of the remaining car (this one) and built the engine with the other block and pistons. So the engine currently in the car is original minus the Boss block with 11:1 pistons. The original matching numbers block is present and included with the sale of this car. An interesting aspect of this car is the interior. The marti report lists white Ruffino/Corinthian Vinyl bucket seats. The actual interior is black. Was it changed out? No it wasn't. The guy that I purchased the car from knew the brothers and knew the car since it was new. It was simply a mix up or error from the factory and black interior was installed. I don't have the build sheet to back it up. The fella that I bought the car from had a lot of metal work done in order to eliminate any rust. It was done really well by a shop that restores Shelby's almost exclusively. For personal reasons he was unable to finish the car. I bought the car as a project the way it sits today. I'm a ford enthusiast and have a few old Fords. I own a small, rural body shop with an excellent guy capable of what this car deserves. The good problem is, he is booked with many projects for the next two years. Also, since buying the car, I haven't been able to spend as much time near the shop, and now live in Denver, CO with work and family. I also have two projects closer to completion that will occupy what little time I currently have. I likely won't be able to attempt to start this car for a few years, so I have decided to put it out there. To my knowledge, the car is not missing any Boss 351 specific parts, except the rev limiter. It is rolling around on the more valuable real/non-repo FOMOCO Magnum 500's.  From memory, I verified; block number, heads, carburetor, alternator, distributor, starter, shifter, radiator, dip stick, transmission, rearend, inner fender, some glass. The body is very very solid. It still requires floors and some panels are present, however since this project was started, a one piece is now available, which would most likely be the way to go. The previous owner had the engine machining done and assembled at their local shelby contact, however I have not run it. I'll give a turn every now and then. Use the current engine or start with the matching block at your discretion. Likewise, the black interior is present, or choose white. Either color could be justified. Personally, the white under blue definitely appealed to me. Check out the videos;https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNbeozGnXzI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-qIXH-IEacI guarantee the car to be an original Boss 351. Best

For personal pick up, I will help you load the car and parts.

For any buyer that does not pick up personally, add $700 for me to more carefully pack the car with parts. A side note on 71's and collectorsI absolutely love these 71's, it's a true muscle supercar without the price tag of a 429. Being a Ford guy, I of course, admire the 302's, however they've never made sense to me. The top end runners simply don't match the bottom end small displacement. The extra 49 cubes, and 391 rear end balance them so well. With the high compression ratio (highest ford has ever done?) , solid lifter cam, high quality hurst shifter, rugged 4 speed, and unique axle ratio with 31 spline axles, these cars were tough and a true attempt at performance. Older guys tell me that they were 427 fast. What makes a collector more valuable than the other? Correct components. Remember, almost every part of the car has a number on it that can be decoded to a manufacturer date that typically coincides a month before the cars manufacturer date. Hunting those specific pieces down and actually accumulating them may require years of hunting, calling, and negotiating.
