1966 Ford Mustang Coupe

Fire Cracker Red floods the body of this Mustang from top to bottom. Lots of new and original chrome trim throughout the car. Gaps show well, without any rubbing against other panels. Brand new windshield and rubber. The trunk retains its original plaid mat. 14" original steel wheels with original Mustang hub caps. The white wall tires are solid with no cracking or dry spots. Please note that all rubber was replaced. Including windshield, rear glass, doors, trunk, vent windows, cowl, wiper blades, etc. Front bumper, bumper guards, FORD hood lettering, fender ornament, rear bumper, rocker moldings, quarter panel ornaments, door handles, side mirror, trunk lock bezel, gas cap, tail light bezels and lens are all new.

InteriorRed is also the theme inside. A swing of the door reveals red painted steel door panels with red vinyl door panels covering the center of the door and door armrest, chrome window cranks, and chrome door handles. Perforated 66 red vinyl wraps the 2 front bucket seats and rear bench seat. New red carpet floods the floors. Now standard for 1966 is the instrument cluster in its black and chrome case sporting a round center speedometer and 2 outboard round gauges on either side. Heater controls and original AM/FM/ radio are in their familiar position. The dash pad is a new Original Ford Tooling. Headliner is white and so are the sun visors. This gives the interior great contrast. Too many new parts to list and few original ones have been refurbished. Windows open and close freely. 

DrivetrainRebuilt head on the 200ci inline 6-cylinder adorns the engine bay. A 1-barrel carburetor sits on top of the engine. 3-speed automatic C4 transmission is mounted to the rear of the mill and sends power back to the rear axle. Brackets and many parts off the engine bay were sand blasted and painted at the same time. New water pump, new thermostat, new battery, new battery cables, new starter solenoid, new MSD coil pack, new spark plugs, new wires, new air filter, new oil filter, new oil sending unit, fresh oil, new hoses throughout the engine and gaskets.  

UndercarriageBlack undercoating covers the undercarriage. The floor pans are original - expected for a west coast classic car. Suspension components have new bushings and many parts have been replaced. New shocks, new brake drums and shoes, new brake hoses, new sway bar bushing, new strut rod bushing etc. All new exhaust system. Frame rails are straight and it doesn't appear that this pony was ever involved in any accidents.  

DrivabilityA twist of the key and the 200ci inline 6 fires right up. Handling, braking, and acceleration is what you'd expect of a restored car 6cyl. The car feels very tight and it rides smooth, alignment was done a few months ago.
