This is a 1937 Ford 7W two door saloon. It is the first model of the Ford Popular range of cars. The 7W two door is the nicest and rarest of all the Pop type saloons-it is the Top of the Pops! The range of cars later developed through the Anglia and the Popular. but the 7W front sheetmetal with the 3 hole grille. unbeaded wings. dipped bumper and big headlights with full bubble lenses was the nicest front sheetmetal of the whole range of cars. The 7W two door is on the longer 94 inch wheelbase chassis. and has more room inside than Pops and Anglias. It has opening windscreen and opening rear side windows.
The 7W two door is very rare. there are less than 30 known survivors worldwide. of which less than 15 are on the road. This car has the sliding roof which is very rare indeed. This is probably the only 7W two door on the road in green with a sliding roof in the world.
This car is priced at approximately twice the value of a Pop for a car that is many times rarer.
This car is an older restoration which has had a recent repaint. It is in good condition throughout and drives nicely. Interior is an older retrim that is still in good condition. It has new tyres. new battery and new starter motor. It obviously has V5C. It has its original 3 letter 3 number number plate. It is taxed which is free and is MOT exempt.
Swap or PX considered pre 1949 English or American Ford car/parts. or full size truck.

from barry, dated 02 august 2021I seem to remember that the front number plate was mounted dead centre under the fender on the car that lived on our street.
