       AVO MK1  Ford Escort RS2000  13-Sept-1974 (N)            This vehicle belongs to a good friend and has been part of his private collection since 2007. Restoration was completed in 2015 where only minimal work was required to get it to its current standard.48,000 miles with extensive History File.    Advanced Vehicle Operations (AVO) Type 49 body, front quarter bumpers, strengthened chassis rails, strengthened flitch plates, reinforced front suspension strut top mounting plates, rear radius rods, black painted aluminium grill, brake warning light, temperature gauge, heater fan, cigar lighter, heated rear window. Factory fitted options include; RS centre console, Kienzle clock, wiper blade wind deflector.    Finished in the much rarer RS Moderna Green, (Code M), the paint finish is outstanding both inside and out. The underside is also immaculate, it displays the correct Type 49 shell strengthening components as well as slant rear dampers which is a unique feature only to the very early pre November 1974 cars.    Excellent detailing and accuracy throughout sets this car way up there with the best examples available. Keen RS experts will find AVO workmanship laid bare for all to see, including the cut outs to the bonnet strengthening brace and bulkhead, required to fit the longer and higher positioned RS2000 Pinto engine. All trim items, triplex toughened glass and the decal kit are in immaculate order. Even the extremely rare RS wiper deflector and original colour coded petrol filler cap remain fitted.    Original RS sports interior in black brushed nylon (Code A1) and fitted with the optional headrests with matching loop pile carpet throughout. The rare Kienzle clock housed within the optional RS centre console is not operative. All the other sports instruments function as they should. The boot floor area is unmarked along with the correct fifth RS alloy wheel.    The immaculate engine bay houses the 2.0 Ford Pinto unit and develops approximately 130 bhp. The original identity plates remain fitted. The Type-E single selector rail shift four speed synchromesh gearbox functions perfect and positively.    Original RS alloy wheels (5) with correct part number; H71AB-1007-A-C and the original dark grey RS centre caps. Matching Pirelli P4 Cintrurato 175 / 70 / R13 82T, all five are as new.
