For Sale – my 1972 Ford Ranchero 500

£8750 (or very near offer)

I will add some more recent / clearer pictures in the next few days (I've been very busy with my work, so haven't had the chance to take any yet).

Imported earlier this year and has recently been registered with DVLA (MOT and Tax Exempt).

A solid California car, but she does need some paint and there are a couple of minor rust patches – nothing of major concern / overall a very solid car – come and have a look.

The car is fitted with a GT Style Hood.

The interior could do with a bit of a clean-up and some tidying (a new tailored carpet comes with the car).

She has the preferred 351C 5.8L V8 Cleveland Engine, and is fitted with the earlier (69) 4V ‘Quench' Cylinder Heads (higher compression closed chamber heads, with enlarged ports and valves).

The Engine seems fit, but I'd say to access the true potential, the Edelbrock Performer Carb could do with a bit of adjustment / tuning. The RHS Exhaust Manifold has a minor leak (new gasket and stud kit will be supplied with the car).

The car has been driven locally (short distances of around 12 miles or so) and drives very nicely, with no significant issues apparent, but as with any newly acquired classic car, she could do with a bit of a thorough going over and a bit more local usage to build confidence before embarking on any long distance journeys.

The car was recently fitted with a set of barely used Cooper Cobra Tyres.

The car is priced to sell, but this is a reluctant sale (regrettably, I have a lot of other commitments right now). If I don't receive a fair offer, then I will keep her over winter and have the paintwork done, and run her all through next summer / sort out any odd niggles, before selling her early next autumn for several thousand over the current asking price.

Lots of money has been spent on parts, some of which are listed below:

Full set of barely used Cooper Cobra Tyres

Pertronix Flame Thrower Coil
